Making ConnectionsAnnual Review 2014
Chairman’s Message 2014 has been another successful year for The Marketing Society Scotland with an ever increasing number of members to ever improving membership satisfaction ratings.
With the development of our global membership strategy we are also building connections and sharing ideas across the world. This year we created Pioneering Spirit Award events in Dubai, Mumbai, Cannes and Lima.
The flagship events in Scotland go from strength to strength from a record number of entries then attendance at the Star Awards to another full house St Andrew’s Day Dinner at the Balmoral Hotel.
New events for this year included Digital Day at the Skyscanner offices where another sell out audience enjoyed a wide range of presentations from some inspiring speakers.
I would like to thank The Marketing Society Scotland Council for their support and to The Marketing Society management team as well as Lux Events for their energy and commitment.
I would also like to thank our many sponsors and supporters without whom we could not deliver such a comprehensive programme of events.
Chris Pitt Head of Marketing HSBC Chair of The Marketing Society Scotland
Director’s Report The key objectives of The Marketing Society in Scotland are to increase our membership and ensure they are engaged and satisfied. I am pleased to report we continue to make good progress in all three areas.
By creating a clear structure to our Inspiring Minds events across the year with a great range of speakers giving a variety of perspectives we are delivering a very cost effective development programme.
The Star Awards remain our most important activity and requires year round planning – from entry promotion, the judging process then the management of our biggest event of the year.
Our members are our greatest ambassadors and we rely on them to promote membership with their colleagues and contacts. We have a year round MGM promotion with a range of incentives available when new members are successfully introduced.
Once members join up, and the next challenge is to ensure they join in – from event attendance and award entry or judging to getting involved with the MSS Council or some of our planning groups.
If you have anything you would like to contribute to The Marketing Society in Scotland please contact me at [email protected]
Thank you for your support
