OUR VISION AND MISSION
VISION
To ensure that orphans and other children made vulnerable primarily by the HIV/AIDS pandemic have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in life.
MISSION We collaborate with families, children, community and community organisations, government, non government organisations and business to provide holistic care to South African children in distress thereby safeguarding the opportunity for orphans and other children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, to achieve their full potential in life.
OUR THREE STRATEGIES
The Hollard Foundation engages at three levels:
1. COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP FOR HOLISTIC ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC) INTERVENTION: Midvaal Programme
2. PROVIDING DONOR FUNDING AND SUPPORT THROUGH OUR NGO SUPPORT PROGRAMME (NSP)
3. ADVOCACY AND INNOVATION - A LEADER IN REALISING SOLUTIONSThe Hollard Foundations measures success in terms of:1. Increased access for children to the fulfilment of their basic rights.2. Increased capacity of NPOs and the Midvaal Community to effectively deliver
services.

A) SELECTING THE COMMUNITYCriteriaThe foundation wanted to partner with: 1. A semi urban community2. No National NGOs operating in it 3. Municipality was willing to partner and play an active role in strengthening the response by NGOs and to play
a role in advocacy and innovations
Two municipalities were identified by Gauteng Provincial Departments, Health (HIV/AIDS) and Social Development -Kungwini

B) CONSULTATIONS
• Visit to the Midvaal Municipality by Hollard Foundation board of trustees
• Selection of 5 geographical areas:Elandsfontein, Ward 7Lakeside Estate, Ward 6Mamello, Ward 1Piels Farm, Ward 5Sicelo, Ward 10
• Learning journeys with the development partners, Convene and REOS

C) LAUNCH The initiative was launched by all the stakeholders at the event held on 26 November 2007

THE DECLARATION“We, the undersigned solemnly declare our support and commitment to the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (0VCs) of Midvaal.We undertake to uphold and facilitate the realization of the rights of children as contained in the South African constitution, thereby ensuring that the child’s basic need for identity, food, shelter, care, protection, psychosocial support and education are met.We strive to preserve the family unit where this is possibleTo intervene as early as possible where a child is identified as vulnerableTo ensure that the children’s emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual, moral and social growth and development needs are met”
