Science, technology and medical information

(bibliographic, abstract and index) from 1975 to

current

Having discipline codes and controlled terms with

thesaurus, suited for classification and analysis

J-STAGE, e-journal platform started in 1999, has

grown to have 1,700 journals

If a researcher who has ORCID ID in researchmap, data matched by ORCID ID is shown.

If a researcher who doesn’t have ORCID ID in researchmap, data matched by name is shown.

Data is registered

More and more universities use researchmap as a master

database of researchers information of university.

The research activities and cv data of researchmap can be

used for application of competitive funds via e-Rad.

Ordinance for Enforcement of the School Education Act

says that education and research activities in the

universities have to be open to public.

Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

(MEXT) says web links to researchmap from the home page of the

university is compliant with the act.

Research reports, Accomplishments(article, patent

…) etc.)

Two ways of approach

• Identify by algorithm (author identification, bibliographic data

matching)

• Identify by identifiers(ORCID, FundRef, etc.)

MOU on JaLC Project Administration (signed May 28, 2012)

National Diet Library (NDL)

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)

National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS)

National Institute of Informatics (NII)

JaLC is the only Japanese organization authorized by the IDF as

a Registration Agency (RA) for DOI

Domestic institutions work together to perform central

functions using DOI to promote management and distribution

of digital content.

Administered jointly by academic institutions in Japan.

Page 15: Making Knowledge Infrastructure by “Identification”

Started as a project of Japan Link Center (JaLC)

(2014/10~2015/9)

8 participant institutions of different discipline

Assign DOIs to research data to find out issues and

their solutions and utilization of DOIs.
