2. What is PowerPoint? PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package. It gives you everything you need to produce a professional-looking presentation. PowerPoint offers word processing, outlining, drawing, graphing, and presentation management tools- all designed to be easy to use and learn. 3. Basic tasks for creating a PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint presentations work like slide shows. To convey a message or a story, you break it down into slides. Think of each slide as a blank canvas for the pictures, words, and shapes that will help you build your story. 4. Lets start creating your presentation in a simple way 5. 1. Open PowerPoint. You will see a blank screen with two boxes in the middle of the screen. One of the boxes says "Click to add title," the other says "Click to add subtitle." 6. 2. On the tab at the upper left side of your screen, hit the "File" tab. 7. 3. On the vertical toolbar to the left, hit the "New" tab. 8. 4. If you wish to use a template, click on the "Sample templates" box. A template is a slideshow with a preloaded background that is designed for specific presentations, such as an itinerary or a status report. 9. 5. Click on the template you want to use, depending on the purpose of your presentation. If you don't find the kind of template you need for your presentation, it's probably best to choose a theme. 10. 6. If you wish to use a theme, click on the "Themes" box in the "New" tab. A theme is a slideshow with a preloaded background that can be used for general presentations. 11. 7. Click on the specific template or theme you want to work with from the list of choices. 12. 8. Once your theme is loaded, click on the "Click to add title" and "Click to add subtitle" boxes and add the title and subtitle (if necessary) of your own presentation. 13. 9. After deciding on a title, click on the "New Slide" button in the "Slides" tab up top. You can also create a new slide with the shortcut (Ctrl + M). 14. 10. Continue adding information and pictures as you see fit. In PowerPoint, however, less is often more. 15. 11. Format your text Select the text. Under Drawing Tools, click Format. Do one of the following: To change the color of your text, click Text Fill, and then choose a color. To change the outline color of your text, click Text Outline, and then choose a color. To apply a shadow, reflection, glow, bevel, 3-D rotation, a transform, click Text Effects, and then choose the effect you want. 16. Change the fonts. Change the text color. Add bullets or numbers to text. Change the color and style of a bulleted or numbered list. Format text as superscript or subscript. Clear all text formatting. 17. 12. Add shapes On the Insert tab, click Shapes. Pick the shape that you want, click anywhere on the slide, and then drag to draw the shape. 18. 13. Add pictures On the Insert tab, do one of the following: To insert a picture that is saved on your local drive or an internal server, click Pictures on my PC, browse for the picture, and then click Insert. 19. 14. To add Transition: Click Transitions. Select the desired transition. 20. 15. To add Animation: Click Animations. Select the desired animation. 21. 16. Once you are finished with your PowerPoint presentation, go to "File > Save As" and save your file so that you can retrieve it later. 22. 17. When you want to view your presentation as a series of slides, click on the "Slide Show" tab and then click on "From Beginning" top left or simple click F5. 23. THANK YOU!!!
