Since Malaysia has transitioned to its industrial age, many new factories have been built. But there is a big down side to Malaysia being in its industrial age. Now, the air, the land and the water of Malaysia has been polluted. This effects the lives of many people living there.
Stating the Problem
Water PollutionUnfortunately, many people in Malaysia still rely on rivers to
survive...WHY is this bad?
Factories use the rivers to dump toxic waste that is made in the productive process. Paper factories dump pulp in the rivers which gives off a terrible smell and is toxic when ingested.
Here is a factory...as you can see
there is a big amount of smoke
pouring out

Water Pollution Continued..Rivers have now become tourist attractions. Trees are chopped down
for hotels to be built. When there are no trees, the roots of the trees die and no longer hold the soil together. When it rains, the soil is washed into the rivers and makes them gloomy. Now the fish and any other organisms that live in the rivers die due to lack of sunlight.

Land PollutionAgriculture and farming still play a big role in Malaysia. When you are
a farmer in Malaysia, you have to use many pesticides to keep insects away. Too many pesticides can affect the environment because they throw off the pH levels in the soil. It is extremely hard to keep plants alive when there is no nutrients in the soil.
Air PollutionThere is not just dumping of poisonous chemicals in the rivers. Air
pollution also is a big problem in Malaysia. Shah Alam is now one of the most densely populated and polluted places in Malaysia. This is because there are new factories in Shah Alam so there are more job opportunities and higher pay. More cars pollute the air and so do the factories in course of production.
Slowly Making ProgressNow, it's very easy to stop pollution. If everyone takes their
own part, problems will slow down and everyone in Malaysia will live much healthier. Some things to do to help are:
1. cut down on using chemicals to clean2. protest and put a stop to dumping in rivers3. Conserve!
THE WORLD NEEDS A CHANGE
