A very strong S&T policy and governance system emerging from
the National Vision Strategy of 2020. Malaysia is advancing every year on the World Competitiveness
scoreboard (23/07-19/08-18/09).
Nearly all national innovation system components exist. Excellent supporting programs for entrepreneurship, S&T education,
technology commercialization and transfer, Open Innovation, and
Research Collaboration.

2 Schemes are available:
1. TAF 1: Provides funding to eligible Malaysian companies to acquire foreign technology
for immediate incorporation into company’s manufacturing activity. The acquisition of
could be in the form of acquiring know-how/patent /design via the following methods:o Licensing of technology
o Purchase of technology; and
o Outright purchase of technology
2. TAF2: Provides funding to eligible women entrepreneurs to acquire equipment and
machinery for immediate incorporation into company’s manufacturing activity. The
acquisition of the equipment and machinery must be for the improvement of the
current production capacity or process.

The portal serves to provide an integrated technology research tools to
search, capture, sort, filter and collaborate over on the Internet for

researchers to present their research in a manner which leads to further
opportunity to enhance and exploit their findings.
