The Malaysian Society for Microbiology Postgraduate Seminar 2016 (MSMPS2016) is an initiative by the Malaysian Society for Microbiology to revive the pre-viously organised Postgraduate Seminar under the auspices of UNESCO. Through this event we hope to set the stage again for these seminars to be a platform for students from various universities nationwide to come collectively to share, interact, learn and network through the various oral, poster and interaction op-portunities presented over the one day seminar. As indicated by the theme, we endeavour to provide the students with an educating and learning oppor-tunity where they are exposed to the advancements in the field of Microbiology. Encouraging and supporting excellence in human resource development will sure-ly ensure the advancement in Microbiology. The Seminar is open to postgraduate students regis-tered in public and private universities in the country. The organising committee of the MSMPS2016 in-vites submission of oral and poster abstracts in all aspects of microbiology. The abstract must be in English which is the official language of the Seminar. The programme will include:
For those who are interested to submit a full re-search article for publication under Penerbit UKM, kindly submit your manuscripts in English to the MSMPS2016 Secretariat ([email protected]) by 30 July 2016. The manuscript should have the following sections: Abstract - no more than 300 words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References. The whole manuscript should be no longer than 15 pages. Each student participant is only allowed one manuscript submission. No manu-scripts will be entertained from non-Seminar partic-ipants. Please visit the Malaysian Journal of Micro-biology website for guidelines to prepare your man-uscript. Full papers that have been reviewed and accepted for publication will be published as a com-pilation of papers in a book in 2017.
Abstracts for oral and poster presentations must be limited to 300 words in single spacing using Times New Roman font size 12. The title should be in capi-tal letters, bold and 14 point. The names of authors, their affiliations and the email address of the corre-sponding author should appear below the title font 12. If there is more than ONE author, underline the presenting author. Only registered participants who have paid their registration fees will have their ab-stracts published and documented. One registered participant is entitled to ONLY one entry for a pa-per/poster submission. Status of oral and poster presentation will be notified by the Scientific com-mittee of MSMPS 2016.
