Birth Rate
The birth rate is the total number of births per 1,000 of a population each year. The rate of births in a population is calculated in several ways: live births from a universal registration system for births, deaths, and marriages; population counts from a census, and estimation through specialized demographic techniques.

Policies of Government
• One notable initiative taken by the government is the Maldives Mission. It has reduced the infant mortality rate at an alarming speed.• Maldives Immunization Plan has resulted in the near elimination of the diseases like polio and tetanus.• Also, life expectancy in the Maldives has seen massive improvements over recent decades, increasing from 48 years in 1978 to 72 years in 2005.

Initiatives takenAgain, The Maldives Mission has
a lot of contributions towards education especially in girls.
The Millennium Development Program has increased the literacy rate with a steady but an eminent progress.
The educated children are also given lots of opportunities of employment.
SUMMARYSo, as to what we saw, we conclude that;Maldives’ health is considered the topmost priority
of the government. The country is a very prosperous country with an
average literacy rate of 96.41% at present.Various successful initiatives have been taken to
improve the condition of the country in the fields of Health and education.
Even though it is a small island nation, the people are extracting as much as they can from human capital.
Although it is a developing country, it has almost all the features a developed country has. In 2010 it was an LDC but it has progressed a lot in development.
