OPENING HYMN
HERE I AM LORD
I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear My light to them? Whom shall I send?
(Refrain) Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night. I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my peoples pain. I have wept for love of them, They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak My word to them, Whom shall I send? (Refrain)
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them, My hand will save Finest bread I will provide, Till their hearts be satisfied. I will give My life to them, Whom shall I send? (Refrain)
INTRODUCTORY RITES In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And with your spirit.
SPRINKLING WITH HOLY WATER In the water of baptism Clarita became God’s daughter to-gether with Christ. With Christ who died on the cross, may Clarita go with Christ to new life. May she now share with Christ eternal glory.
PLACING OF THE PALL
Clarita, when you were baptized, you received the new life of Jesus and you were given the new dignity which you are now proud to bring before the Lord. May the Lord smile at you and welcome you to His eternal life.
OPENING PRAYER
O God, who through the ending of present things open up the beginning of things to come, grant, we pray, that the soul of your servant Clarita may be led by you to attain the inher-itance of eternal redemption.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
FIRST READING A Reading from the Book of Wisdom 3:1-9 The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no tor-ment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the fool-ish, to be dead: and their passing away was thought an afflic-tion and their going forth from us, utter destruction, But they are in peace.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
With profound gratitude, the Ortega Family
wish to acknowledge the many heartwarming and beautiful expressions of sympathy, support
and love, extended to us during our time of bereavement. God’s bountiful blessings be on you all.
RECESSIONAL HYMN

SAAN KA MAN NAROROON (Wherever You Are)
Saan ka man naroroon sinta Pag-ibig kong wagas
Ang 'yong nadarama Kailan pa man Sa iyo'y lilimot Pusong uhaw sa iyong pag-ibig
Saan ka man naroroon sinta Pangarap ko'y ikaw
Pagkat mahal kita Asahan mong sa habang panahon Ala-ala kita Saan ka man naroroon
Asahan mong sa habang panahon
Ala-ala kita Saan ka man naroroon
For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. In the time of their visita-tion they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble: They shall judge nations and rule over peoples and the Lord shall be their King forever. Those who trust in him shall understand truth and the faithful shall abide with him in love; Because grace and mer-cy are with his holy ones, and his care is with his elect.
The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
PSALM Psalm 23
SHEPHERD ME O GOD
Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.
God is my shepherd, so nothing shall I want,
I rest in the meadows of faithfulness and love, I walk by the quiet waters of peace.
Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants,
beyond my fears, from death into life.
Gently you raise me and heal my weary soul, you lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth,
my spirit shall sing the music of your Name.
Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.
Though I should wander the valley of death,
I fear no evil, for you are at my side, your rod and your staff, my comfort and my hope.
Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants,
beyond my fears, from death into life.
SECOND READING A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans Brothers and sisters:
None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For this is why Christ died and came to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God." So each of us shall give an account of himself .
The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Alleluia… Alleluia… Alleluia...
Glory to you, O Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ Alleluia… Alleluia… Alleluia...
CONCLUDING RITE
With faith in Jesus Christ, we must reverently bury the
body of Clarita Let us pray with confidence to God, in whose sight all creation lives, that He will raise up in holiness and power the mortal body of our brother and command his soul to be num-bered among the blessed.
May God grant her a merciful judgment, deliverance from death, and pardon of sin. May Christ the Good Shep-herd carry her home to be at peace with the Father. May she rejoice forever in the presence of the eternal King and in the company of all the Saints.
SONG OF FAREWELL
May the choirs of angels Come to greet you.
May they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you
in his mercy. May you find eternal life.
The lord is my light and my help;
it is he who protects me from harm. The Lord is the strength for my days;
before whom should I tremble with fear?
May the choirs of angels Come to greet you.
May they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you
in his mercy. May you find eternal life.
EXTINGUISHING OF CANDLE
Extinguish the Candle—Symbol of Peace
WE REMEMBER
We remember how you loved us To your death and still we celebrate
For you are with us here And we believe that we will see you When you come, in your glory Lord
We remember, we celebrate, we believe.
Here a million wounded souls Are yearning just to touch you
and be healed Gather all your people, and hold them to your heart.
We remember how you loved us
To your death and still we celebrate For you are with us here
And we believe that we will see you When you come, in your glory Lord
We remember, we celebrate, we believe.
GOSPEL
The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, Lord.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and
after he sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord, Jesus Christ.
HOMILY
CANDLE LIGHTING CEREMONY
O Lord, God of all the living and the dead, we light these
candles of remembrance, to recall our loved ones whom You
have called home, and to claim for ourselves the comfort and
strength You promise to those left behind.
Our source of this lighting ceremony is the Pascal Candle.
We are reminded that Jesus Christ, Light of the World, has
dispelled the darkness. By His sufferings and death and Res-
urrection, we have been given the salvation and the hope of
eternal life.
Lighting of the Candle—Symbol of Life
First Candle (Johnny Ortega)
The first candle represents our grief. We remember the
first intense pain of our loss, and we acknowledge the loneli-
ness and dull ache in the days and the months that will fol-
low. We ask O Lord that in our broken heart, You will place
the soothing gifts of Your consolation and peace.
Lord Grant our beloved Clarita the fullness of life.
And let the light of Your glory shine upon her.
May she live with you forever.
Amen.
Second Candle (Normalyn Rodriguez)
This second candle we light as a beacon of courage and
strength. For ourselves, we ask for the courage to deal with
our sorrow and to carry on with our daily lives. We pray also
for those whose strength we depend on in our sorrow—those
Lead me Lord, even though at times, I'd rather go along my way
Help me take the right direction, take your road Lead me Lord and never leave my side
All my days, all my life.
Repeat Chorus
YOU RAISE ME UP
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be; Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Having received the Sacrament of your Only Begotten Son, who was sacrificed for us and rose in glory, we humbly implore you, O Lord, for your departed servant Clarita, that, cleansed by the paschal mysteries, she may glory in the gift of the resurrection to come.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the
sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my
roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. COMMUNION HYMN
LEAD ME LORD
Lead me Lord
Lead me by the hand and let me face the rising sun Comfort through all the pains that life may bring
There's no other hope that I can lean upon Lead me Lord, lead me all my life
Walk by me
Walk by me across the lonely roads of everyday Take my arms and let your hand show me the way
Show the way to live inside your love, All my days, all my life...
Chorus: You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet All the time, my Lord I need you there

there to listen, to comfort, and to take care of the details. We
ask Your grace upon them and ourselves.
Lord Grant our beloved Clarita the fullness of life.
And let the light of Your glory shine upon her.
May she live with you forever.
Amen.
Third Candle (Myrna Ortega)
The third candle, O Lord, represents the memories of our
beloved ones that we carry in our hearts. We are reminded
by the memories of their voices, their characteristic ways of
doing things, the times of joy and sorrow we shared with
them, and their presence. We thank you for helping us to re-
member.
Lord Grant our beloved Clarita the fullness of life.
And let the light of Your glory shine upon her.
May she live with you forever.
Amen.
Fourth Candle (Eric Ortega)
The last candle represents the light of Your love, O God—
the love that has surrounded us all our days that expressed
itself in the lives of the our dear ones. In their goodness,
Lord, we saw Your face and felt Your healing touch. Through
their lives we learned of Your great love for us all. May our
lives reflect that love to others, too.
Lord Grant our beloved Clarita the fullness of life.
And let the light of Your glory shine upon her.
May she live with you forever.
Amen.
Presentation of Flowers—Symbol of Love
God, the Almighty Father, raised Christ, His Son, from the dead; With confidence we ask Him to save His people, living and dead.
Lord hear our prayer.
Jesus taught us to call God our Father, and so we have the courage to sing:
Ama namin sumasalangit Ka. Sambahin ang ngalan Mo Mapasa amin ang kaharian Mo, Sundin ang loob Mo
Dito sa lupa, para ng sa langit. Bigyan Mo kami ngayon ng aming kakanin sa araw-araw.
At patawarin Mo kami sa aming mga sala. Para ng pagpapatawad namin sa nagkakasala sa amin.
At huwag Mo kaming ipahintulot sa tukso At iadya Mo kami sa lahat ng masama.
Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you; look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign for ever and ever.
Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
Father all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well al-
ways and everywhere to give you thanks and praise through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In him, who rose from the dead, our hope of resurrection dawned. The sadness of death gives way to the bright prom-ise of immortality.
Lord, for our faithful people, life is changed, not ended. When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death, we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven.
And so, with all the choirs of angels in heaven, we pro-claim your glory and join in their unending hymn of praise.
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
The mystery of faith.
We remember how you loved us to your death And still we celebrate for you are with us here
And we believe that we will see you When you come in you glory, Lord
We remember, we celebrate, we believe.
Through him, with him, in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours almighty Father, forever and ever.
Amen.
For Clarita, who in baptism was given the promise of eternal life, that she now be admitted into the company of God’s saints, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. For Clarita, who ate the body of Christ, the bread of life, that she be raised up on the last day, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. For Clarita’s family and friends, that they may be con-soled in their grief by Jesus, who wept at the death of His friend, Lazarus, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. For our relatives and friends, and all who have helped us in any way, that they may have the reward of their good-ness, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. For all who have died, especially Alfredo, in the hope of rising again, that the Lord may welcome them into the light of His presence, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. For all who are assembled here to worship in faith, that we may be gathered together again in God’s kingdom, we pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. Lord, hear our prayers for Clarita and our deceased
brothers and sisters. Forgive them their sins and bring them to the fullness of your salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
OFFERTORY HYMN
ON EAGLE’S WINGS
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge, My Rock in Whom I trust."
(Refrain) And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you, And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His Wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield.
(Refrain)
You need not fear the terror of the night, Nor the arrow that flies by day,
Though thousands fall about you, Near you it shall not come.
(Refrain)
For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways, Upon their hands they will bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
(Refrain)
PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through
your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
Blessed be God for ever.
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
Blessed be God for ever. Pray, brethren, that my sacrifice and yours may be ac-
ceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the
praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS
Look favorably on our offerings, O Lord, so that your de-parted servant Clarita may be taken up into glory with your Son, in whose great mystery of love we are all united.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
PREFACE
The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.
