The client’s platform had been moved to the Microsoft Azure cloud and had to be monitored 24x7. Their business operations mandated zero downtime during payroll processing from 20th of every month till the 7th of the next month,. This required constant monitoring and management of anomalies before it caused any service interruptions. As the number and size of their end clients began to grow, capacity and performance demand on the application increased. This meant the application had to be up and running at all times.

The client engaged Xencia to help navigate the challenges that came with the constant monitoring and management of an application in the cloud to ensure peak performance at all times.

CLIENT REQUIREMENT

We, at Xencia, combined our 24×7 expert support with our world-class Cloud Operations & Management services to help the client achieve operational excellence on Microsoft Azure.

Along with design, build, migration, deployment, monitoring and management of the Azure cloud, our scope of services covered ongoing management of virtual machines, storage, firewall, backup, Active Directory, operating systems and databases.

We began by creating a well-defined Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to handle incidents. We ensured proactive monitoring using best-in-class monitoring tools, with advanced assistance from Microsoft support as an effective escalation for cloud environment related issues. Threshold based alerts were configured to identify anomalous peaks, and the support team monitored the servers round the clock to ensure that all the servers are running at optimum levels.
