The Institute focus on the career advancement of the managerial personnel and introduce to them the new developments in management arena. The MDP on " Leaders for Tomorrow", organized by the Bhavan's B-School, was also designed and developed under the broad ambit of enhancing the effectiveness of management through leadership competencies. An acclaimed corporate trainer, Sri. G. Balachandran was the Resource Person for the programme. He handled the high impact session on leadership traits and practices which would enable the mid level managers to push their roles up the career in a swift and steady manner. Sri. Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman - BVB, Kochi Kendra, in his inaugural Management Development Programme (MDP) @ Bhavan's B-School address stressed on the need to engage in the forward thinking leadership by being individually adept at specific competencies. Our Director, Sri. E Ramankutty highlighted on how Bhavans has always remained as an apex organization in imparting holistic education movement. Participants from various business firms enlivened the session with their enthusiasm to learn. Prof. Dr. Rajagopala Nair, Dean, welcomed the gathering and Sri. Biji P. Thomas, Co-ordinator of the programme offered vote of thanks in the inaugural session. T he second year students, accompanied by the faculty members Ms. Rohini S. Nair and Mr. Girish S. Pathy visited the facilities of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. and Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd. in Bangalore as part of their study tour. Students gained insights on the internal working environment Industrial Tour of the manufacturing organisations and interacted with the employees. T he stone laying ceremony for the house which is being constructed by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to Ms. Bindu, Canteen helper, who lost her house in the devastating flood. Nair enlivened the sessionwith his real life vignettes and energeticpresentation. He clarified the queries of theaudience, and found time to have an extendedsession exclusively for the outgoing batch of studentsin the second year. Our Dean, Dr. Rajagopala Nair,thanked and appreciated the speaker for the wealthof information he shared.

The classes for 3rd semester MBA Programmewas started with a two day refresher programme,

"Dwipad". Mr. Sooraj Abraham, well known CorporateTrainer, conducted a workshop on PlacementReadiness for MBAs. An exclusive session on personalgrooming and presentation was conducted for girlstudents by Ms. Rekha, Grooming Trainer.

The second day was dedicated to the launch of"Dwipad Milestones"- an evaluation tool developed bythe internal faculties for the analysis of theprogressive development of the students as they enterinto their second year.
