GENERAL INFORMATIONVanderbilt Corporate Health Services has been sponsoring the “Management of the Injured Worker” conference for the workers’ compensation community for thirteen years. The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine joined us in sponsoring this event in 2010 and provides CME credits for physicians. Conference attendees, consisting of physicians, physician assistants, occupational health nurses, case managers, insurance claims adjusters, claims managers, physical therapists, attorneys and employer representatives, tell us that they return every year because they receive quality medical information specific to workers’ compensation from speakers who are experts in their fields.

TOPICS Jonas Kalnas, M.D., of the Vanderbilt Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine, will be our emcee. Past attendees know Dr. Kalnas to be an engaging speaker with a broad spectrum view of Occupational Medicine and workers’ compensation issues.

We have partnered with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to provide education to the attendees that will focus on the new workers’ compensation legislation and the increased need for evidence-based treatment practices and guidelines. The conference attendees will hear presentations demonstrating how newly emerging medical evidence practices are changing the treatment of injuries and the management of chronic pain and how physicians will be required to assess the causation of work-related injuries and diseases.

FOODA continental breakfast will be provided from 7:00 to 8:00AM. A buffet lunch will be provided which gives a variety of food for all tastes. If you have special dietary needs, please specify that at the time of your registration.

Pre-registration will end on September 12, 2014. Walk-in registration will be available on the day of the conference and an additional $25.00 will be added to the registration fee. The availability of conference materials and food cannot be guaranteed for those who register on the day of the conference.
