Position Responsibilities

Ownership of core day-to-day accounting responsibilities includingfinancial reporting. You will help delegate and manage firm workflow toassure accurate, complete and timely preparation of client tax returnsand accounting workAdvise clients based on a demonstrated thorough knowledge andproficiency in advanced technical skills related to tax preparation andaccountingAssume responsibility to complete more complex and technical businessreturns, personal returns and tax planningPerform client services, as needed, and see that assignments are finishedtimely and within allowable budgetsBe a resource for clients and staff on specific tax issues or questions whenrequired, and communicate to appropriate personnel and CRA whenimportant tax or accounting developments affect our clientsAssisting in building and maintaining the internal control environmentAssist in managing and mentoring staff to promote efficiency, stellarwork product and advance continual growth in their skills and knowledgebaseAssisting in the direction and training of staff, reviewing completed filesto ensure quality of workFinding opportunities for efficiency improvements and drivingimplementation of the solutions across the finance tech stack

4+ years of relevant accountingexperience at some combination ofpublic accounting firm, privatecompany, or start-up, showingprogressive responsibilitiesA Business degreePossess a Canadian recognizedProfessional Designation (CGA, CMA,and/or CPA, CA) and excellent technicalaccounting skills with a detailedunderstanding of GAAP standardsStrong project management skillsencompassing attention to detail andability to prioritize and lead high prioritytasks on concurrent timelines
