Government in partnership with other progressive organisations, cleaned Monwabisi Old

Age Home in Nyanga as part of the 67 minutes contribution of Mandela Day. Top left: A

City Sport and Recreation officials and volunteers did face painting to hundreds of children

who were on the stadium to celebrate Mandela Day. They also received packets of chips,

chocolates sweets and other nice things.

Hundreds of children of Nyanga from differ-

ent primary schools participated in various

sports related activities, at Nyanga Stadium.

International Rugby Super Star, Brian Haba-

na was among them and played Tag Rugby

with them.

Government Communication and Information System has developed a big banner to brand

the Mandala month with the key message of 2014. “Working together for a clean South

Africa”

Oudtshoorn Thusong Service Centre Mandela Day lunch for old people

Staff at Oudtshoorn Thusong Service Centre organise a lunch for pensioners form Bongulethu township, as part of their 67 minutes to honour our former President Nelson Mandela.

Pensioners were delighted to receive the official Nelson Mandela Poster an a copy of July 2014 edition of the Vuk’uzenzele, where the State of the Nation Address is outlined.

Annexure A

Feedback on Mandela Day Celebrations held in Cape Agulhas Municipal Area.

• A range of clean-up activities was arranged for Mandela Day celebrations in the Cape Agulhas area.

• One of the activities that GCIS attended was held at the Liefdesnessie, Care centre for the aged. The program for the centre was aimed at painting the inside walls and cleaning up around the facility as well as the entire Long Street section from Liefdesnessie. More than 150 participants were in attendance and comprised of workers from SANPARKS, Working for Fire, Working for Water, Cape Agulhas municipality, GCIS and the Neighbourhood Watch.
