• Following discussion among members present at SARA, in Prague, it was decided that a request for an Erasmus IP in Medical Physics would be presented.
• Bologna in collaboration with Catania took over the job of preparing and presenting the application
• The application was closed and submitted on March 3rd, to allow for the administrative steps at the Rectorate to be finalized in time for the deadline (set by the Italian Erasmus National Agency at March 8th)
• The paperwork was sent to the NA on March 6th, thus completing the application.

• Two infos have arrived since:
Apr 17th: the proposal passed the formal screening
May 29th: the proposal passed the quality screening
• we are now awaiting the result of the financial screening, which constitutes the final step
• The partners involved are: Athens, Bologna, Catania, Coimbra, ISIB, Juelich, Palermo, Prague, Salamanca, Valencia, Xios

• The objective of this practical course is to give students the opportunity to study with a practical, hands-on approach the most advanced nuclear and radiological techniques in medicine, and this in the environment of an actual working situation, with access to equipment that is not easily available in all of the partner institutions
• The target group are physics and engineering students at the Masters level
• Students at the Ph.D. level may be admitted.

• The main activities are practical exercises using the facilities of ICATANIA01 (1st week of the IP) and of I-BOLOGNA01 (2nd week), all with introductory lectures
• The practical exercises will be organized in international subgroups, allowing the participants to communicate and interact with colleagues students of different countries and cultural backgrounds
• If the application is successful, the date foreseen for the start of the IP is April 7th, 2014 (possibly to be revised)
• The provisional program is as follows (please do not loose sight of the fact that assignements are barely tentative!)
