sharp bends and are not pinched.Connect the discharge connection and motorcable. See Electrical connections.

Lower the pump into the sump.

Place the pump on a base which will prevent itfrom sinking into a soft sump bottom. Alternati-vely, the pump can be suspended by its liftinghandle just above the sump bottom.

    NOTE!Where required by local au-

thorities an acceptable motor-circuit switch or other discon-

    necting device shall be provid-

ed at the time of installation.

    NOTE!At certain installations and

    operation points on the pump

curve the noise level 70 dB,

noise level specied for theactual pump, can be exceeded.

Transportation and storageThe pump may be transported and stored in a

vertical or horizontal position. Make sure that itcannot roll or fall over.

WARNING!Always lift the pump by its

    carrying handle or lifting eyes,

never by the motor cable or

    the hose.

WARNING!Before starting to work on thepump or moving the pump,

make sure that the pump is

    isolated from the power sup-

    ply and cannot be energized.

This applies to the control cir-

    cuit as well.

The pump is frostproof as long as it is operating

or is immersed in the liquid. If the pump is takenup when the temperature is below freezing, theimpeller may freeze. The pump shall be operatedfor a short period after being taken up in orderto expel all remaining water.

A frozen impeller can be thawed by allowing thepump to stand immersed in the liquid for a shortperiod before it is started. Never use a nakedame to thaw the pump.

For longer periods of storage, the pump must beprotected against moisture and heat. The impel-

ler should be rotated by hand occasionally (forexample every other month) to prevent the sealsfrom sticking together. If the pump is stored formore than 6 months, this rotation is mandatory.

After a long period of storage, the pump shouldbe inspected before it is put into operation. Payspecial attention to the seals and the cable entry.

Follow the instructions under the heading Be-fore starting

Check that the mains voltage and frequencyagree with the specications on the pump dataplate.

NOTE! For safety reasons, the earth (ground)lead should be approx. 200 mm (7.9 in) longerthan the phase and monitoring leads. If the mo-tor cable is jerked loose by mistake, the earth(ground) lead should be the last lead to come

loose from its terminal. This applies to both endsof the cable.

Make sure that the pump is correctly earthed(grounded).

When the pump is connected to the public mainsit may cause icker of incandescent lamps whenstarting. In this case the supply authority shouldbe notied before installing the pump.

    WARNING!All electrical equipment must

    be earthed (grounded). This

    applies to both pump equip-

    ment and any monitoring

    equipment. Failure to heed

this warning may cause a le-

    thal accident. Make sure that

the earth (ground) lead is cor-

    rectly connected by testing it.

    NOTE!Make sure that the monitoring

    equipment incorporated in the

    product is correctly connected

    and in use.

WARNING!If the pump is equipped with

    automatic level control or con-

tactor unit, there is a risk of

    sudden restart.

WARNING!Bear in mind the risk of elec-

    trical shock if the electrical

    connections are not correctly

carried out or if there is fault

    or damage on the pump.

WARNING!If persons are likely tocome into physical contactwith the pump or pumpedmedia (liquid), e.g on con-struction sites and farms, the earthed (grounded)socket must have an addi-tional earth(ground-) faultprotection device (GFI)connected.
