    Thirty-second note

    Sixty-fourth note

TIP: The maximum length of the phrase will depend onthe BPM youve speci ed. The maximum length willbe sixteen beats if the BPM is 108.5 or higher, eightbeats if the BPM is lower than 108.5, four beats if theBPM is lower than 54.3, or two beats if the BPM islower than 27.2.

TIP: The phrase length that you specify will revert tothe default setting when you turn off the power.

If you shorten the playback length, the phrasewill play as a loop of the speci ed length. If you increase the playback length, the phraseof the speci ed length will play repeatedly overthe speci ed length. Heres an example of howyou can use this. Specify L4 (one measure)and record a rhythm phrase. Then set thelength of that phrase to L16 (four measures),and record a melody phrase.TIP: If youve shortened the playback length, you are

still free to change it back to the original length. How-ever if you record or erase on the phrase in its short-ened state, the data will be recorded as a phrase ofthe shortened length, meaning that the original phrasedata will be lost, and you wont be able to change itback to its original length.

The maximum length of a phrase depends onthe BPM you speci ed. Therefore, changingthe BPM value during loop recording couldcause an overdubbed phrase to be truncated,or a silent part to be appended to the end of a

phrase. Also, changing the BPM value in the followingsituations will affect the phrase recording: You changed the BPM value and recorded BE-

FORE the top of the phrase was located. After recording, but BEFORE the top of the

phrase was located, you changed the BPMvalue.

During phrase playback, the KAOSSILATORPRO+ manages the BPM based on a playbackcycle (time duration from the beginning of theplayback until the top of the phrase is again lo-cated).If you do not want your recording loop to be af-fected by unexpected changes in playbackspeed or phrase recording time due to changesin the BPM value, be sure to wait for playbackto return to the top of the phrase, then start re-cording. Also, after recordings, do not change

the BPM value until the top of the phrase hasbeen located.
