Enter V(urea)? This message is displayed at the start of a dialysis treatmentprovided the operator has not already entered the V
urea on the
screen. This message will be displayed when the OCM isswitched on manually by the operator or after the optical de-tector has sensed blood, provided “OCM measurement ON”was preselected in the Setup. This message prompts the ope-rator to enter the patient’s volume of urea distribution. It will
only be displayed if the Vurea has not yet been entered. If the Vu-rea
has been changed during the OCM measurement, the Kt/Vwill be recalculated provided it is already available. This mes-sage will be cleared by pressing the Start/Reset key.
HDF/HF < > OCM An OCM and an HDF or HF treatment procedure cannot beperformed simultaneously. Displayed once if OCM is selectedwhile HDF/HF is active. If HDF/HF is selected while OCM is al-ready active, the OCM will be aborted and the message “OCMoff” will be displayed. The OCM can, however, be reselectedafter HDF/HF has been switched off.
SN < > OCM The OCM cannot be started as a Single Needle treatment (SNor SN click-clack) has been selected.
Profile< > OCM An OCM cannot be started in conjunction with a Na-/UF profile1, 5 or 6 and a treatment time of less than 180 minutes. Dis-played when the OCM is switched on and/or when selecting aprofile.

1.1.2 Warnings
The operator has attempted to enter a value for an OCM para-meter that is below the minimum limit.
OCM tech. deact./X The OCM cannot be started as the CD cells or the temperaturesensors are not properly calibrated or have been manually de-activated when operating the machine. Also displayed whenthe integral relationship of the adjustment measurement is out-side the limits. Displayed when the OCM is activated manuallyor when the OD senses dark fluid if the default setting for theOCM is set to active.
Inform the service technician of the error code (X).
OCM off/X The OCM was aborted due to a malfunction and will be deacti-vated until the end of the treatment.Inform the service technician of the error code (X).
OCM adjust Displays during an OCM adjustment.
OCM adjust intended Displays when the optical detector senses dark fluid and if anadjustment measurement is required on completion of thetreatment in progress.
Input value too low
Input value too high The operator has attempted to enter a value for an OCM para-meter that is above the maximum limit.
OCM adjust OK Displays after successful completion of an OCM adjustment.
OCM adjust cancelled The OCM adjustment was not successfully completed and willbe repeated after the next treatment.
Kt/V too low Displays if the prescribed Kt/V cannot be reached at the end ofthe treatment with the current Kt/V.

OCM OFF/2 The OCM option will be deactivated until the machine isswitched off.One of the CD cells has measured a value below 11.5 mS/cmduring more than 3 consecutive OCM measurements.
– Check CD cells for proper connection
– P.C.B. LP 633-5 defective
OCM OFF/3 The OCM option will be deactivated until the machine isswitched off.
– System error
OCM OFF/5 The OCM option will be deactivated until the machine isswitched off.
A downward pulse occurs although an upward pulse was re-quested.
– Check the bibag/concentrate delivery – Check the concentrate pumps / mixing system
– Air in the dialysate

OCM tech. deact./1 The OCM option is decalibrated and can only be reactivatedafter a successful pulse calibration.Deviation between the 8-bit and the 12-bit CD value of the pre-cell > 0.5 ms/cm for > 20 s.
– Disinfection – Check OCM calibration and calibrate, if necessary
OCM tech. deact./4 The OCM option is decalibrated and can only be reactivatedafter a successful pulse calibration.Three cyclic pressure holding tests (CPHT) showed a deviationof > 0.5 ms/cm between CD cell 7 and CD cell 110 for > 4.5 s.

3.1 Measuring equipment
CautionThe accuracy of the measuring equipment used during the calibration procedureis decisive for the accuracy of the OCM measurement.
The measuring equipment used for the calibration of the conductivity must havean accuracy of 0.05 mS/cm within a temperature range of 35 °C – 39 °C.We recommend to use the UMED universal measuring device which is availablefrom Fresenius (part no. M32 403 1).
