97 Ref Summary of DHS Service All computers that are connected to the internet have their own addresses called IP addresses. When you send a letter, it is delivered to the recipient after being sorted by its address in the post office. In pretty much the same principle, computers are able to communicate through the IP addresses on the internet. SmartDVR Formula™ supports various network functions for searching and setting up configurations from a remote location. There is a slight complication due to the fact that the IP addresses change from time to time. Due to the shortage of IP addresses worldwide, most of the telecommunication companies use a procedure that shares the same IP addresses with a number of computers in the order of connection. Therefore it is highly probable that a computer’s IP address changes every time it connects to the internet. If the IP address changes, you will no longer have the address with which to connect to the DVR System. DHS Service lets you overcome this limitation of the current internet environment. A DVR system registered to the DHS Service will notify the INTOTECH DHS server of its current IP address every 10 minutes. Even though remote users may not know the IP address of the DVR system, they can connect to the DHS Service which will then redirect them to the DVR system they are trying to connect to. This powerful service provided by INTOTECH will allow you to use network functions from anywhere in the world regardless of the constantly changing IP addresses.
