FORGE OPERATOR
• The forge operator’s job is to make as-cast, or rough castings of parts using hot deformation processes in the specified dimensions.
• The forge operator handles the parts for the forging tools.
• You prepare, set and use a range of forging tools, including power hammers, presses and ring rollers, according to instructions and computer-integrated manufacturing programs.
• You would be responsible for ensuring that forging equipment is working correctly and for performing basic maintenance on these machines.
• You will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• The job also includes monitoring the quality and traceability of as-casts and key process parameters in order to identify any anomalies.
• Forge operators work in teams of five or six.
