MAP & GUIDE
AT THE ZOO... CHAPERONES: All students (grades preK–12) must be accompanied by an adult while on the zoo grounds in the ratio of one adult for every six students.
EMERGENCIES, LOST & FOUND, FIRST AID: If you become separated from your group or have an emergency, contact Guest Services in the South or West Entrance Plazas, or ask for help from uniformed zoo staff.
HAVE A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL ZOO VISITWe want your students to have a fun and productive visit. We also want to ensure that our animals and other guests are not disturbed. You are responsible for your students’ behavior. Please remind students about appropriate behavior required during your visit.
1. Stay with adult chaperone and your group at all times.
2. Stay on marked paths and areas.
3. Do not throw food or objects into the exhibits.
4. Do not tap on glass or otherwise stress the animals.
5. Be quiet near exhibits.
6. Use recycling, compost and waste containers throughout the zoo.
QUARTERS FOR CONSERVATIONWoodland Park Zoo is committed to wildlife conservation projects that also protect habitats and bring benefits to people. Each token represents 25 cents of the zoo entry fee; we use that 25 cents to strengthen our commitment to field conservation projects in the Pacific Northwest and around the world. Your token tells us which projects you care about most!
1. Pick up your free tokens (one for each person in your group) at Guest Services (found at either entrance) using your chaperone sticker.
2. Explore the zoo and learn about our field conservation projects.
3. Vote for the project each of you cares about most by putting your tokens in the kiosk.
To learn more about conservation projects, please visit: www.zoo.org/quarters

WHAT TO DO AT THE ZOOThere’s lots to see and do during your visit! Please check the daily activities kiosk near the entrance for the most up-to-date program schedule.
QUESTIONS TO ENCOURAGE STUDENT EXPLORATIONThe questions below can encourage students to make observations and think like scientists. The questions do not have a right answer, but are open to many different student responses.
• What do you see/notice/observe?
• What do you wonder about it?
• What does it remind you of?
• How might you explain that?
• Tell me more about that…
• What makes you say that?
• What’s your evidence for that?
• What else do you know about this?
• How could we learn more?
