Maple Crest Breaks Ground On $11 Million RedevelopmentNew Transitional Care Center ToFeature Cutting-Edge TechnologyWellness Program Now At Maple Crest
Maple Crest
Recently Maple Crest hosted a GroundBreaking Ceremony to announce the kick off of a major redevelopment project for this truly remarkable community.
Currently Maple Crest is undergoing a massive transformation. Thefirst phase of redevelopment began in January of this year, on thethird floor of the community, where plans call for an entirely newrehabilitation area to better serve the Benson neighborhood and theseniors of Omaha.
In this first phase, which will be completed in the next month or two,Maple Crest will increase the number of private resident rooms aswell as enlarged resident rooms. The beautifully appointed commonareas and enhanced rehab services have brought a sense ofexcitement to those looking for health care options.
As we look ahead to the coming year you will see Maple Crestcontinue to change. Expanded and remodeled dining areas, redesigned resident rooms throughout the community, refurbishedcommon spaces encourage ‘community’ and foster meaningfulrelationships with friends old and new.
This is truly an exciting time to be a part of our Community and wehope you are ready to take the next step with us as we create the newMaple Crest Care Center to serve residents of today and tomorrow.
We thank you for your patience during our redevelopment, and inthe end, we know you will not be disappointed.
We look forward to the NEW Maple Crest and we invite you to visitand see why!

Nebraska Department of Health Services iswarning the Norovirus is back. Thepotentially serious illness has been reported
in nursing homes statewide over the past fewmonths. Maple Crest Care Center, however, hasn’tseen any cases of Norovirus. Nurses credit properimmunizations and cleanliness as key factors inkeeping residents safe.
For nurse and infectious disease specialist, SandraMorse, RN., quality control is about more thanmaking residents of Maple Crest comfortable, it’sabout keeping them safe from diseases that canspread quickly.
Morse says about 95% of Maple Crest’s staff gotimmunized for the flu back in October. “It was veryexciting for me as an infection control preventionistthat out of those 169 employees, all came forward
and wanted the flu shot.”
Morse acknowledges that the Norovirus is highlycontagious and can be easily spread. Sherecommends wiping down surfaces from elevatorbuttons to the spigot you use at the watercooler witha cleaning solution, preferably one that containsbleach.
Proper hand washing is also something Morse sayscan’t be overestimated. “I’m just really vigilantabout having staff wash for 25 seconds,” said Morse, who also says hand sanitizers are a great way todisinfect on the run.
And if you are sick, Morse says you can do a lot ofgood simply by staying home especially if you wereplanning a visit to a long-term care community. Sherecommends getting healthy before paying a visit.
