Valentine?s Day!
In preparation of our upcoming Valentine?s Day celebrations and class parties, we would like to remind you to please be extra mindful of the ingredients used in baked goods and store bought treats. Some individuals in our school family have food sensitivities and allergies and we want to make sure that we are extra careful about the types of foods we expose them to. Remember that healthy snacks such as fruits and veggies are always welcome and that even non-edible treats such as stickers, pencils, and erasers can be wonderful alternatives to an overabundance of sugary foods and sometimes even more exciting for our students to receive.
Your kindness and consideration for all children in our school is always appreciated and will make our hearts even more love-filled next Friday!
All lunch meals include mi lk and 2 selections from the side bar. Side bar options include: an assor tment of celer y sticks, baby car rots, assor ted fr esh fr ui t and canned fr ui t, fr esh romaine salad, sl iced cucumbers, 100% fr esh juice cup. Volunteer Needed
Attention parents and Chardon residents,
Maple Elementary is in need of a head crossing guard. We pride ourselves on being able to ensure safety for our students and families as they arrive and depart from school each day and want you to be a part of the team in this effort! If you would be interested in this position, please contact Sarah Strawinski at [email protected] or (440) 678-7019. The time commitment is minimal, but the reward you receive from giving back to the school is immeasurable. Here's your chance to jump on that New Year's Resolution you set for yourself to start volunteering!
LUCKY STICKER DAY
Fact : Each year, about 36,000 children are born with a heart defect. The American Heart Association teams up with Jump Rope for Heart to help raise money for the research and development of a cure for heart disease. Funded research and advancement have saved the lives of many children over the years, and continues to do so. Maple is participating in Jump Rope for Heart in PE class to help the AHA continue to fund this important research. Your children have come home with a donation envelope with information on Jump Rope for Heart, which we will be doing in our PE class the last week in February. Students can collect donations in a variety of ways, but please no door to door solicitation. They can also go online to heart.org/ jump to sign up online and send emails to friends and family as well. Parents, you can also use your Facebook and Twitter accounts if you want to promote the fundraiser!! Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions!! Thank you!!!
