Anderson Municipal Light & Power: Milsoft Products Suite
• Did clarify expectations of delivery of WindMilMap. Communication was not good between AMLP & MilSoft.
• Lack of insistence that Third-Party Software be Multispeak compatible
• Installing too many pieces at the same time:o WindMilMapo SmartLynko DisSPatcho AVLo Telelink
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power: Mistakes in Integration
• WindMil o Ran an importer to convert our Geodatabase into a
WindMil model.
• Miner & Miner – ArcFMo Main issue with ArcFM, not compatible with any
other software being used at AML&P. Glorified attribute editor in ArcGIS
• Needed a process to become seamless between our GIS data model and WindMil
• GIS is AML&P’s data and analytical foundation

Anderson Municipal Light & Power: Before WindMilMap
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power: WindMilMap Integration Process
• Anderson Municipal Light & Power (AML&P) Purchased WindMilMap end of 2007 or beginning of 2008 to replace the Miner & Miner ArcFM product.
• Initial WindMilMap Model delivered to AML&P in July 2008 was in a Microsoft Access Data Model – Personal Geodatabase Model
• AMLP rejected the delivery due to the Access Model not being free flowing with our SQL SDE Geodatabases
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power: WindMilMap Integration Process
• August 2008 Milsoft went back to the drawing board to look at a SQL based solution.
• Milsoft since August 2008 has begun and in the process of developing a couple tools, AssetPro (SQL based) and SmartLynk.
• WindMilMap delivered in Beta form in January 2010 without the AssetPro piece.
• SmartLynk – Connection to a SDE Geodatabase.o Pushes the circuit model and the external tables data to an
Geodatabase (SDE or File).o Data Pushes can be scheduled from every 5 minutes to 24
hours.

Anderson Municipal Light & Power: WindMilMap Integration Process
• AML&P is currently working with WindMilMap 8.0 Beta
• SmartLynk is currently also in Beta.
• The Milsoft customer support

Anderson Municipal Light & Power: Before Milsoft OMS
• Porche
• Purchased Star from Hexagram (Aclara) to provide AMR
• Created Web Map Application through ArcGIS Server to display the current AMR meters showing as out, restored, back out in real time.
• Our processes dealt with a lot of paper work and took some acclimation to figure out the status of an outage at any given time

Anderson Municipal Light & Power: Before Milsoft OMS
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power: OMS Integration Process
• Purchased DisSPatch in September 2009
• Loaded DisSPatch in January 2010 due to waiting on WindMilMap Model
• Went LIVE with DisSPatch on March 15th with IVR integratedo Spent a month with training on live data. Vital for
dispatchers.
• AMR (Star – Aclara) integrated as a strictly “ON/OFF” Alarm on March 22nd. This is not a Multispeak solution.o Currently the AMR is not being displayed in DisSPatch due
to bug
• More information being processed than ever before = big learning curve for dispatchers
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power: OMS Integration Process
• 3 components involved with OMSo IVR (Porche/Calls Manager)o DisSPatcho Crew Manager
• These 3 components are forcing AML&P to re-think our outage procedures.
• We are learning DisSPatch requires good communication between crews and the dispatcher for it to be fully functional as an OMS and reporting tool.
• Next steps in the next few months is to integrate SCADA and AVL into DisSPatch.
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power:Future
• Live connection between WindMilMap and a SDE Geodatabase
• DisSPatcho Integration of AVL(TeleNav with Sprint Nextel or another
vendor), SCADA and Weathero Push outage status to the web for public consumption on a
high level and have separate web portal for supervisors to receive a detailed view of outages from DisSPatch.
• Expand the functionality of Telelink to fully integrate with DisSPatch.
Energy. Innovation. Experience.
Anderson Municipal Light & Power:Future
• Go mobile with our crew with the possible purchase of Unplugged.
• Add staking software for the Engineering Department
• Continue to help Milsoft push WindMilMap to bigger and greater things in the GIS Community in relation to Electrical Utilities.
