Welcome This year is Mar Mac Farms and Guests Bull Sale 10th Anniversary! It has been 10 years since we moved the sale to the farm and it has been worth it! The bulls look more natural in their own environment and less stressed from moving them in to town. We can also provide you with a homegrown roast beef lunch in appreciation of you attending our sale.

Mar Mac Farms is a fourth generation family farm, where we make our living from the cattle business. The whole family is involved in the feeding, breeding and marketing of our cattle and we all take pride in producing top genetics. We also understand the importance of customer service and honest relations with our valued customers and friends in the livestock industry.

Brett is home full time, farming and running a custom A.I. business. He has selected a group of Black Angus females this past fall to expand his cowherd and this winter was elected to be a member of the Manitoba Angus Board. Melissa runs her own graphic and web design business, Prairie Pistol Designs and is working with Cattle In Motion videoing/picturing cattle and doing online sale broadcasts. She was selected by the Canadian Angus Association to compete in the 2013 World Angus Forum youth competition and her team "The Canucks" were lucky enough to win the title of world champions!

It is an exciting time to be in the cattle business. This past fall, we seen a lot of younger faces becoming involved and the cattle prices are remaining high. Now is the time to trade in your old new bull for top dollar and invest in some fresh genetics. It has been proven that top quality genetics are worth 5 to 10 cents more at the auction mart.

This years line up of bulls has been analyzed with very high standards as the shrinking cow numbers in the country, we only want to offer the best. The Red Angus are selected for both calving ease and power, what ever suits your program. The Black Angus are a powerful set of individuals with some outcross genetics. We are excited with the first set of Simmental bulls out of our new herdsire, Tombstone. This bulls are stout topped, have great hair coats and naturally thick. Every year we try to improve the offering for our customers and we work hard to achieve that goal.

Our guest consignors; Downhill Simmentals (Everett Olson), Magnusville Farms (Shawn and Della Magnusson) and Perkin Land and Cattle Co. Ltd. (Darryl and Tanya Perkin and Family). Downhill and Magnusville bulls have been fed with our bulls all winter.

As always our bulls have been raised with no creep feed, their weaning weights are produced by their mothers milk. These bulls have been developed on a home grown ration that will enhance longevity. You may find fatter bulls at other sales, but out bulls are fed to last.

We look forward to meeting you on sale day, although we can not visit with everyone on sale day we would like to say a heartfelt thanks for attending and supporting our programs.

Our lead off bull is a real sale feature! His full brother was the high selling bull in out 2013 sale, Red Mar Mac Indicator 30Z, to Kenray Ranch, Saskatchewan. This cow family is as powerful and proven as they come. 10T is the dam of our calving ease sire, Red McRae's Mission 71W and Top Cut son that topped the 2011 bull sale to Lazy RC Ranch, Saskatchewan. We have a number of daughters in our herd that go back to 10T. We put in Deb X Red Iron embryos and then in the fall of 2013 when the calves were weaned they returned to Mar Mac. We are using our proven genetics that work to expand our cowherd. Boy what a uniform group of calves we got and thanks to the Dana and Megan, the bulls were well managed and turned out to be quiet individuals. Deb leaves some performance in her calves and like the bull Spotlight who sold to the Archibalds in 2013 extremely long bodied offspring. We got 4 bull calves and 5 heifer calves out of this flush. These calves have some birthweight but length of body weighs and pays dollars at weaning.We sold one of the females at the Keystone Konnection Sale, who won the sim acta and sold to Workman Farms. The whole group of calves were like peas in a pod. These bulls with add length, performance and dark red color.

I probably could have featured this bull at the start of our section but he will be easy to find sale day. We decided to flush Doll to Dynamite Black after we have seen a few Dynamite daughters rising to the top of the breed in donor cows. We had also sold her natural Dynamite calf to Jim Murray at our first Mar Mac sale in 2007 for $7000. Well, this cross has not let us down. This bull is the deepest bodied bull we have and long spined. With Doll and Dynamite, you will get a nice blend of performance and maternal with balanced EPDs and huge scrotal. A true beef bull, with an ADJ YW of 1503lbs and a WPA of 4 lbs/day and an ADG of 4.5lbs/day since weaning.
