Ronald McDonald House CharitiesGrissom is once again collecting pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than
$40,000 from this program. A collection box will be in the Commons
for your donations!

Grissom Gives Back
Tickets for the “Grissom Gives Back” fundraising volleyball games are available
now for $3 in the Media Center. The games will be played tonight at 5:30 pm
here at Grissom. Tickets are also available during lunches. Don’t miss out! All
proceeds go to the Kirby Educational Foundation.

I.G.S.M.A. Band ContestGood luck to our band members who
are competing tomorrow in the I.G.S.M.A. District Band Contest at Manhattan Junior High. The Cadet
Band performs at 8:40 am, the Symphonic Band at 9:20 am and the
Concert Band at 10:40 am.

Zumba Club will meet Thursday, March 22nd in
the Fitness Room. Be sure to wear comfortable

MathletesGrissom’s 7th grade Mathletes
took 5th place and our 8th grade team took 4th place in
competition yesterday! RyanBressanelli took 3rd place in
individual competition! Congratulations to all our our talented Mathletes for their
hard work this season!

Track TryoutsTryouts for Track will be on
Tuesday, March 20th and Wednesday, March 21st from 3:15-4:30 pm for all runners. Shot put

Crayola ColorCycleStudents and teachers will soon be collecting used
markers (any brand!) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook
meals and more! Boxes will be located in the Commons. The Crayola ColorCycle program can keep tons of plastic
out of landfills each year! Remember, don’t throw out that used marker – ColorCycle it!

morning, and from 3:10-4:05 pm Monday through Thursday.

Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge
Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the
water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please
remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we’ve
saved 7,347 bottles from landfills!
