Even though the new church campaign is almost complete, we
decided to continue our aluminum can drive. Stan currently takes
our cans to “Junk-It” and they no longer accept cans in bags. We
would still like you to bring your cans here but they now need to
be put loose in the barrels. Thank you for all you past support
and keep bringing your cans. If you want to take the cans direct-
ly to “Junk-It” just ask them to add them to our St. Mary’s ac-
count we have with them. Thanks to everyone who brings their
cans to our drop off. Every little bit helps to fill the financial
void do to the loss of our picnic income.
Religious Education Plan for 2020-2021
As of now, 1st through 5th grade will be attending Religious Ed as
usual on Tuesdays. We will be using the Catholic Brain Program.
This program will be accessible to the families on line if schools
happen to shut down or kids are absent for a period of time.
Wednesday evening classes for middle school and high school will
not be held in person. The local parishes are working on a web-site
these kids can access at home. Each class will start out with a local
priest offering a prayer and short talk to the kids followed by other
activities and reflection questions (more to come on this as it
progresses). The Freshmen and Sophomore classes will be doing the
Dynamic Catholic-Decision Point program to prepare them for
confirmation. This is another on line program with a reflection book
for the kids to journal in. As soon as the book comes in, I will let
these families know to pick them up.
As our youth begin a new school year, please keep them in prayer
that they remain strong and healthy-Body-Mind & Soul.
God Bless,
Martha Schmitt
EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP
RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS
What does it mean to be a good steward? Does it mean to be an active
parishioner, or something more? Are we better stewards because we
give more in terms of our money and time to our parish, or are we
called to do even more than that?
The truth is that stewardship is a way of life. We are not simply
called to be active parishioners, but instead be active disciples all the
time. In fact, what we learn to do in our parish should serve as prepa-
ration for the mission field of the world. What have we really done if
we only act like disciples of Jesus Christ while we are assembled with
others who claim to be the same?
The choice before us is to give of ourselves in all aspects of our day
and life. The call of Jesus will come in our everyday lives with our co
-workers, family, and friends more often than it will within our parish
community. First, if we can’t become good stewards when we are
among those who proclaim Jesus as Lord, how will we be able to do
so when we are with those who are non-believers? Second, when our
muscles of gratitude, generosity, and graciousness are strengthened
within our parish community, we are more able to meet the challeng-
es of this world. However, we do not become good stewards by acci-
dent. We must always choose to live this way. What will you choose?

Thank You!! This bulletin is furnished to the Parish with-out charge. The advertisements that appear completely defray all publishing costs with which the church would otherwise be burdened. Please patronize these sponsors as a “Thank You” for their generosity.
If you are looking to join a parish, “Welcome”. We are hoping you
will join St. Mary Parish and pray with us. If you are new to the
area/parish, we extend a special welcome to you and pray that you
will find a warm home here. Stop by the parish office or call the
parish office number during the week to register.
Registering at St. Mary Parish is a declaration of your desire to be
part of a Catholic community and commitment to the life of a par-
ish family. Being a registered parishioner makes things easier
when it is time for Baptism, religious education registration, a wed-
ding, when asked to be a baptismal or confirmation sponsor, rental
of parish buildings, buying a burial plot and even funerals.
We are often asked by other parishes to provide affidavits for bap-
tismal and confirmation sponsors. We can only do this if a person
is a registered, active, and contributing member of our parish. How
do you know if you are registered? A registered parishioner re-
ceives all parish mailing and monthly tithing envelopes or do
automatic deduct for Sunday giving.
