Ash Wednesday, March 6
Yes, it is true, another liturgical season is upon us; how marvelous it is how we travel with the Lord Jesus! On this journey of faith we live and learn from the Guidance of The Holy One. Enclosed in the bulletin is the entire Lenten Schedule containing the times for Masses, confessions, communal penance services, stations of the cross, and The Holy Week services (list excludes regular weekend schedule). Everyone is please asked to take the Lenten Schedule home with you and post it in a very prominent location. This “40 Day Journey of Faith” gives us yet but another opportunity to be renewed and reformed in the eyes of Jesus. Prayerfully as we begin, may all of us use each of these 40 Days as days of transforming our lives, and be most appreciative of our Catholic Faith. At each side door and main en-trance of the church you will find the traditional “Operation Rice Bowl” and other booklets pertaining to the Lenten Season. God Bless us each as we strive to become better, holy Christians. (Fr. Erbacher, “Effie”)

Are the teachings of the Catholic Church biblical? How can I explain
the faith to my family or friends who no longer believe?
Each week there will be a different topic discussed. If you can’t make
all the sessions, perhaps 1 or 2 of these topics will interest you. Feel
free to join us as your schedule allows.
March 4 & 5: “Does God Exist?” How can we know it?
March 11 & 12: “Is Jesus God?” Did Jesus claim to be God? Why
should we believe Him?
March 18 & 19: “Peter and the Papacy?” Did Jesus establish the
Catholic Church? What is the historical evidence?
March 25 & 26: “How Did We Get the Bible?” From where did the
Bible come? Who decided which books got in and which didn’t?
April 1 & 2: “Is the Eucharist Jesus’ Real Presence?” What does the
Bible teach about Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist?
April 8 & 9: “Why Confess to a Priest?” Did Jesus arrange for us to
confess our sins to a priest?
April 15 & 16: “Do Catholics Worship Mary?” What does the Bible
teach about her?
April 22 & 23: “Purgatory and Prayers for the Dead?” Where is
Purgatory in the Bible? Why do Catholics pray for the dead?
If you’ve ever been asked any of these questions but weren’t quite sure
how to answer, or if you know someone who has left the Church and no
longer believes, this Bible study is for you. In it, you’ll discover how
reasonable, biblical and beautiful the Catholic faith really is.
