Hope you are taking advantage of this great weather lately and getting your cars out for a run! Steve Petersen, our Treasurer, is stepping down effective immediately and per Board concurrence I will take over as the Interim Treasurer. I am already a Treasurer for a Veterans’ organization and we use the same bank. My thanks to Steve for his many years of service as our Treasurer. Our May meeting is coming up fast and that means election time for CCSB Officers. A number of officers on the current board have served in some capacity for 2 or more years. Positions open are President, Vice President, Membership, Treasurer and Activities. We would like to see some new faces serve in some capacity .. so please think about it and let me know how you would like to serve. Obviously if we don’t fill these po-sitions, we have no club. Plenty of support is available to make the transi-tion easy and enjoyable. Random Car Comments: 1) Took advantage of a promotional offer from Graham Chevrolet for a free inspection, oil change, vacuum and wash. Took about an hour and true to their promotion it cost me nothing! Thanks Graham for the great service. 2) I see that the Dodge Viper will discontinue production in July 2010, but Chrysler is exploring the return of the Viper in 2012 with a new design. This is a tribute to the enduring affinity for Corvettes the nation has and the ability to produce and sell a great car year after year. 3) For those going on the Palm Springs Run, and for everyone else inter-ested, on Sunday 21 March the USMC Silent Drill Team and USMC Band will be performing at the Rose Bowl. The event is free, gates open at 1300, performance starts at 1400. 4) Hate traveling on Hwy 101 with the numerous and now somewhat dan-gerous potholes! You would think in this modern age we could come up with something better than asphalt to fill in these holes, just to have them dislodge again! If and when the state decides to fill these in we will be in store for long travel delays. Ugh! Hope to see you at the meeting on Tuesday 2 March, 2010

Imagine you’re an auto dealer, bored on a day with no customers. And suddenly there’s this guy entering your dealership and telling you this: I will give you my

Bugatti Veyron if you give me in exchange a Corvette ZR1!" What will you do?

And this is no fairy tail, it happened for real to All American Chevrolet of Midland, Texas. They gave a $107,000 ZR1 for a 2008 Bugatti Veyron with just 20,307 miles. You have to know that a used Veyron can go from $1.4 to $3.6 million depending on condition.

Helen Jensen advises that she has found a source for the studded Cor-vette Jackets, hats & purses since the Solvang source has gone out of busi-ness. MAZi of La Jolla has stock and is able to order items. They can be reached at (858) 454-0151 or www.maziboutique.com Helen suggests you use her name and Corvette Club Santa Barbara when calling and they will know the type of merchandise you are talking about.
