Conquer your self doubt
with these 5 tips!
Go Back In Time:
Look for patterns that
may have caused you to
doubt yourself in the
past. Think about the
times where you did an
amazing job on some-
thing that you had felt
unsure of prior to it.
Focus on your successes!
Make A Mental List:
Whenever you have a
negative thought about
yourself and your ability,
counteract it with facts
that dispute these feel-
ings. Instead of “I think
I failed that exam”, think
“I studied the material
and attended class”.
Keep A Journal:
Make a list of your suc-
cesses and things that
didn’t go so well. Your
successes will certainly
outweigh the negative
outcomes.
Use Your Cheerlead-
ers:
Use your friends and
family as reassurance.
They often times see
talents in you that you
might not see yourself!
Celebrate Your Suc-
cess:
Make sure you take the
time to recognize yourself
for a job well done! Treat
yourself to doing some-
thing you enjoy!
Confidence is Everything!
Purpose: Find the goal of the
chapter before you read.
Survey of Skim: Use a minute
or two to find the focus or central
theme of the piece;
Question: Turn headings into
questions.
Read Selectively: Read the first sen-
tence of each paragraph to see if you
can find the answers to your questions.
Scan for words like “The first points”,
“Secondly”, and “In conclusion”.
Recite: Test yourself and recite the
answers to your questions in your own
words.
Reduce and Record: Make a brief
outline of questions, your answers,
key words, and phrases.
Reflect: Connect what you’ve
learned with what you already know.
Review: Look over your quick notes
to review the whole section or chap-

Midterms are Fast Approaching
Mid-semester is closing in once again. For college students that means late nights,
no sleep, extended study sessions, hitting the books, caffeine, and junk food. So stay
prepared and utilize campus resources so you can ace your exams. Good luck with
all your midterms everyone! Keep an eye out for upcoming programs in March!

Hi readers! My name is
Catherine “Cat” Wood
and I am a RA in
Wellman Hall.
I am a social work major
in my junior year. I love
my school and am so glad
I picked Marshall
University. I love
working as an RA and
getting to interact with
some many people. I
enjoy getting outdoors and
can’t wait for some spring
weather. My favorite time
of year on campus is in
the spring, when the
students start spending
less time indoors and
more time outdoors
enjoying the beautiful
weather.

Filling for Quick No-Bake Graham Cracker Sandwich Cookies
Place the butter and about 1 cup of
the powdered sugar in a mixing
bowl, and beat with an electric
mixer until light and fluffy. Add the
cream and remaining powdered
sugar alternately in batches,
beating well after each addition,
until the frosting is smooth and
creamy. Beat in the vanilla and salt.
Now add the peanut butter, and
beat until fluffy.
Fill the Quick No-Bake Graham Cracker Sandwich Cookies
Spread a generous amount of the
peanut butter frosting on one
graham cracker. Top with another,
and squeeze gently to make a
sandwich. Continue making
sandwiches. Eat the graham
cracker sandwich cookies right
away or let them stand for a few
hours. They'll become nice and soft
as they absorb the moisture from
the frosting.
