Greetings and welcome to the Green Room

Gazette.

I’m your host, BLT’s John Myers. It’s that time again - board elections, Oscars, and in an effort to dis-tract you from the weather outside, we are going to take you on a trip to Birmingham, where three Southern ladies are learning a whole new way to have fun when life throws you curve balls. Board Election Bios This year, each member can vote for three nominees on the ballot (regardless of gender). The top three vote getters will go on to the Board based on the three/two gender require-ment. Board members serve a two-year term. Board nominee bios are featured in reverse alphabetical order by last name, since last year’s bios were listed alphabetically. Frank White

I am honored to be nominated, once again, to be a member of the board of directors for Boi-se Little Theater. Having served on the BLT board in the past, I am excited to once again be able to contribute to the success and growth of BLT. I have been involved in film, TV, radio and, of course, theater for over 50 years now. I am approaching my 100th theater production as either an actor, director, writer or assorted assignments in set design, stage manager, costume, lights, sound, vocal coach, or acting coach. In addition, as I recall, I have cleaned a few restrooms and vacuumed a few lobbies. I have served on the board of directors in theaters here in Ida-ho and in California. I have held the board position of presi-dent, vice president, and general board member. I have been a successful businessman in corporate America, holding positions of corporate president, vice president, di-rector, and national sales manager. I currently own Frank White International, a management consulting and business-coaching company. I am active as a motivational and guest speaker. I believe that I can make a valuable contribution to BLT. I have the time, energy, and sincere desire to participate in the ongoing success and future growth of BLT. I feel that I can offer the BLT board a lot of theater experience, as well as bring important business skills to the task of managing the theater.

Jay Parker

First, I would like to say thank you to every-one who voted for me last election. I have been a working member of BLT for almost 20 years - to some that's a drop in the bucket - but let me tell you I enjoy working with such dedicated and talented people. I would like your consideration to elect me back to the board. I feel I can continue to bring fresh ideas to BLT and make us one of the best theaters in the city. Thank you.

Brad Wm. Ooley

My first show at BLT was in 1982, with A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Since then I have performed in many shows at Boise Little Theater like Lie, Cheat & Genu-flect, White Christmas, and The Mystery of Edwin

Drood. Also, in recent years I have worked behind the scenes and directed The Pink Panther Strikes Again, Company, Squabbles, and Flaming Idiots. In Spring of 2019, I will direct my 5th production, a dark comedy called Evelyn in Purgatory. I have enjoyed learning all the different aspects of being a member of a community theater organization. I was asked to become a board member of Boise Little The-ater when Mr. Posluszny couldn't continue, and I enthusi-astically accepted the request. I can only offer my hard work and talents. I have found great enjoyment working with the script committee and lending a hand with some of the maintenance issues that have arisen in the last year, as well as volunteering for house staff for the last seven years. I have loved theater since high school and am celebrating my 40th year in this religion we call “drama!” Joanna Marshall

I’m very pleased to be nominated again for the Board of Directors and would love to serve if elected. I have been associated with BLT for almost 60 years, starting as a small child with my parents. I have worked in every facet behind the curtains, worked house staff for decades, currently serve as BLT’s Librarian and Historian, have served on the Board of Directors before, and I have even been on stage a couple of times. You might say I have BLT in my blood! Elizabeth Greeley

Elizabeth Greeley has been playing in Thea-ter Land at BLT since 1982. In the interven-ing years, she has become known primarily for her costuming skills; however, at one time or another, she has acted and filled just about every backstage function except di-rector and stage manager, though she played those roles in over 40 student productions at ISCI and Cen-tennial Job Corps. Additionally, she has served on the script committee. Her experience as a board member for 15 years at Stage Coach Theatre and for 10 years at Big Tree Arts has made her aware of the challenges faced by organizations promoting the arts. If elected, her goals for the theater would be: Continue with improving the physical facility as funds

allow. Expand the membership and audience to include young

and new-to-the-city participants by: Incorporating the work of contemporary and up-

coming playwrights in our repertoire. Foster associations with city and other arts organi-

zations to heighten our visibility in the community. Adopt a 5-10 year plan regarding the maintenance and

improvement of the facility (if it doesn’t already exist).

Foster recognition as one of Boise’s premier theater companies.

Develop inventory management procedures for props and costumes.

Patti Finley

Patti Finley has lived in Boise for nearly three years, but she has over 25 years of ex-perience in community theatre, and has served on several boards in various posi-tions, all in California. Now a proud resi-dent of this city, she has appeared in pro-ductions at BLT, assistant directed at BLT, and directed the successful BLT production of A Christmas Story this past holiday season. She has served on the I-ACT Board for two years and has been on their fundraising com-mittee for two successful Cabaret events. In addition, her experience includes: President, Century 21 Brokers Council - 1 year Board Member, California Association of Realtors - 3

years Owner/Broker/Trainer, Century 21 Real Estate office - 5

years President, PTA (elementary school) - 2 years President, Parents Advisory Committee (Junior High

school) - 2 years Chair of Valencia High School Choir Booster organiza-

Guild: Play Selection, Director Selection, By-Laws, Poli-cies and Procedures, and Publicity/Community Out-reach (*Note: We were only allowed to serve on this board for two terms (6 years) and then were required to remain off the board for at least one year before running for election again. During that year, I became a paid employee and our by-laws didn't allow employees to serve on the board. However, I attended all board meet-ings as a staff representative.)

Assistant Executive Director & Co-Artistic Director, Canyon Theatre Guild - 10 years

Director of Youth Workshops, Canyon Theatre Guild - 10 years

Thank you for your consideration. Kim Carter-Cram

Kim Carter-Cram is a professor of both French and English literatures at Boise State University. Dr. Carter-Cram was instru-mental in helping found the state's first pub-lic charter school teaching French and offer-ing accredited International Baccalaureate degree programs to elementary, middle, and high-school students. She served as the Board Chair for the Sage International School of Boise from 2006-2012 and con-

tinues to serve as an ex-officio language advisor to the school. Kim has had a life-long love for theater, music, and dance. She has acting, singing, instrumental, and dance experience and now supports her daughters as they pursue their own interests in theater, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Of particular interest is her desire to promote the theater and its productions to a wide audience throughout the Treasure Valley, as well as to strengthen connections between various BLT constituencies. As one of the founding advisors to the BLT Student Club, she and her family have been active members of the Boise Little Theater community for many years, and she welcomes the oppor-tunity to give back by serving on BLT’s board of directors.
