General Manager March is here and that means the golf season is coming quick! We have seen quite the change in weather; from –30 wind chills and 10” of snow to temperatures in the 70s. The quick warmups are what makes the Ozarks great. As the warmer weather approaches, so does our tournament season and multiple leagues. You can check out the full tournament schedule later in the newsletter, on Clubster, or on the website. Leagues will be starting up soon including Men’s League starting on Wednesday, March 17th. Ladies league and couples league will be shortly thereafter. Our 15 for 12 membership special has come to an end. I would like to thank all of our members who encouraged their friends to take advantage and turned this into a very successful special. We are excited to welcome a large group of new members from this special and look forward to showing them the great value and family atmosphere they signed up for. We had 50 new members join throughout the special (27 Full Golf, 8 Associates, 10 Juniors, 1 Corporate, 2 Socials, and 2 Dining)! Don’t forget that the memberships referral program is still going and now is a great time to refer a friend. 2020 was a great year of growth for Fremont Hills, even during a pandemic. That doesn’t mean that we are satisfied. Continuing to push the Club forward is the only way forward. We have made some great strides and our Board, committees, and staff have some great things in store for the future. 2021 is going to be a great year at FHCC and we can’t wait to enjoy it with each and every member. If there is anything I can do to enhance your membership, please don’t hesitate to reach out! One of the best ways to enhance your membership is to get involved. There are many opportunities to get involved by volunteering for events, tournaments, or joining a committee. These committees are vital to the growth of the Club. A new committee for this year will be a tennis/pickleball committee. If there are any avid tennis/pickleball players that would like to volunteer their time to help grow our new tennis/pickleball groups, please let me know. We can work together with the local area pros we saw in the Fall to create some great leagues, clinics, and tournaments. Another great addition to FHCC! Brian Bennett, PGA General Manager

Restaurant Remodel As most of you are aware, the restaurant painting and drywall repair is complete. You’ll also notice the bar has been opened up for a more entertaining space. Here is a list of the completed items so far: -New Granite Bar Top -New Bar Design with liquor storage, new TV, and more functional space -Updated Fireplace with new hearth stone and tile -New Paint for the entire building as well as drywall repair Now that most of the major construction is done, we still have quite a few details to finish including: changing all the light switches/power outlets, new artwork (we are getting some photos of the course made to hang on the walls in restaurant but are waiting until the course is green), as well as some cosmetic touch ups. We appreciate the understanding as we work to get everything done as quickly as possible. Phase 2 of the project has started and some product will be here soon. New entryway furniture should be arriving mid March and the new lights for the dining room should be here about the same time. As far as the new dining room furniture, we are still waiting on samples before we get them ordered. This is a big purchase and we want to make sure that the chairs/tables look and feel right before moving forward. Again, we appreciate your patience as we work to get everything done as expediently as possible. Check out some pictures below of before and after photos.

Social Calendar

Due to COVID-19 last year, we didn’t get to have as many events as we would like. With the outlook improving for 2021, it is time to get back in the swing of it. With that in mind, we are looking for volunteers to join our Social Committee. In the past, this committee has come up with some great ideas that have brought a lot of fun and entertainment to our membership. One of the best things about this committee is that they have been involved in running these events. If you are interested in joining this committee as well as helping to run events, please email [email protected]. It is time that we get together do decide what events we can do safely this year as well as get the calendar ready for 2021.

Shuffleboard

A big thanks goes out to a group of our members who donated the shuffleboard in the card room. It has only been there for a few days but has gotten lots of use. It is a very nice addition to the card room and there are a couple of rules going forward. The equipment to play will be held behind the bar by the restaurant staff. Any children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult when using. No food or drink can be set on the table. This was a great donation and we want to keep it in great shape! Have fun!

Snowman Scramble Series

We have now completed the second of the three Snowman Scramble Series. What a day it was too with temperatures in the 60s and 30 teams! Both events have been a huge success with one more this coming Saturday, March 6th. Congrats goes to the teams of Marcus Puryear and Andy Weingardt for placing first in Championship flight. There was a 5 way tie for first in A-Flight between the teams of James/Myers, Darrow/Darrow, Martens/Quimby, Hogan/Bass and Barner/Keller. We had a 3 way tie for first in B-Flight with the teams of Wagaman/Mitchell, Needham/Lorenzo, and Burbridge/Burbridge. Thank you to everyone that participated and we hope to see the same turnout for this weekend!

One-Person Mulligan

Our One-Person Mulligan event is coming up on Saturday or Sunday, March 27th or 28th. New for this year is you can decide to play on either day. Just call and setup a tee time for Saturday or Sunday. The cost will be $40/member of $50/guest. This is a fun way to start off the year with the added help of a mulligan if you need it. Beware though, if you decide to hit a mulligan you MUST play it. Come join us Saturday or Sunday and bring a friend too!

Tournaments 2021

The Tournament Committee has met and set the events calendar for 2021. Please see the full schedule in this newsletter, on Clubster, on the website, in the card room, or grab a copy from the Pro Shop. We had great turnout for all events (even with COVID) last year and we hope to see that same excitement this year!

Ladies League

6

A note from Ladies League President, Lanita Brumley:

The Fremont Hills Ladies League is gearing up for another busy, fun-filled golfing season. We are hoping and praying for a more normal year—one that allows us to have all of our usual league days, guest days, and tourna-ments. We invite all Fremont Hills ladies who are interested in golfing to join us on Tuesday mornings at 9. Ladies League is a great group of ladies who enjoy golf and each other’s company! We have all skill levels from beginners to competitive; we have a group of 9-hole players and the larg-er group of 18-hole players. We would like to have an evening league for working women if there is enough interest.

If you are interested and would like more information, you can call me at 489-0466 or email me at [email protected] or talk to any ladies league member. We are extremely proud of our Fremont Hills Ladies League—one of the largest and most active leagues in the area. Be watch-ing for further announcements about the upcoming season.

We look forward to giving you one event in each of the

Winter months to meet your competitive (but mostly fun)

golf needs. Pick a partner (can be different each time)

and come enjoy a 2-Person Scramble. Open to both

men and women, age based tees will be used. Number

of flights will be based on amount of entries. If the

course is open, we will play! Just call and book your

own tee time. Each player will receive two free drink

tickets with their entry fee.
