WestWinds COMMUNITY CHURCH WELCOME TO Where EVERYONE Is Welcome!! SUNDAY SERVICE 10 AM March 31, 2013 MESSAGE Rev. Ted Boodle WORSHIP Rev. Mark Davis HEAD USHER Karen Plett GREETERS Dave Froese Ernie Plett Audrey Silver Roy Silver KIDS CHURCH Grades K to 6 TODDLERS Ages 2 1/2 to 4 years NURSERY Birth to 2 1/2 years TODAY’S MESSAGE: The Pleasure of God - Easter 2013 OUR INNER C MPASS The cross and the empty tomb; the penalty paid, the reward won. Love paid the penalty and love won the reward. The penalty was our sin debt; the reward was our forgiveness and our welcome into God’s eternal family. Sometimes people fail to connect daily life with the doctrines of faith. True faith integrates the age to come with the daily life of this present age. The empty tomb means we are just passing through this world. We live here for now but only for now. Christians who forget this world is only “for now” tend to over-invest in “for now”. “For now” can be wonderful but if “for now” is as good as it gets... well, that would be disappointing. Christians are free to enjoy “here and now” because Christians are looking forward to “there (Heaven) and then (eternity)”. Millions of Christians lived and died under the yoke of slavery - looking for the freedom of heaven. Millions of Christians have sealed their faith with their lives - looking for a better resurrection. Millions of Christians lived and died in obscurity, simply, faithfully living out the implications of the resurrection - looking forward to streets of gold, no more tears and everlasting joy. Easter is a celebration but only a partial celebration. Easter won the reservation but the full possession awaits the end of time. Jesus will return and Christians will meet Him in the air. Yes, Easter is wonderful but heaven will be forever better. One commentator put it this way: “The Christian is on his way to a palace; to become attached to a broken-down cottage would be absurd. The Christian seeks a prize of gold; to be sidetracked by lumps of dirt would be folly.” Happy Easter folks! And a happier everlasting life just around the corner - There and then! Pastor Ted Kids Church is cancelled for today.

TODAY’S MESSAGE: The Pleasure of God - Easter 2013

OUR INNER

C MPASS The cross and the empty tomb; the penalty paid, the reward won.

The Christian seeks a prize of gold; to be sidetracked by lumps of dirt would be folly.”

Happy Easter folks! And a happier everlasting life just around the corner - There and then!
