A Message From Mrs. Waiser Please join Mrs. Waiser and the School Council for our next meeting on Tuesday March 10 th , 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the library. Research continues to show that parent engagement has a positive effect on student achievement and well-being, and that our schools are better when there is a strong partnership between the school and home. Parent involvement in the school is not only welcomed, but encouraged. I hope you join us at our next Council meeting so that your voice can be heard. What is School Council? The role of the School Council is to improve student learning and to develop a shared sense of accountability for the public education system among parents and educators. School Councils are advisory bodies that can make recommendations to the principal on matters as stated in Board Policy and procedure. Specifically, School Councils are responsi- ble for: promoting parent, family and community engagement in support of student achievement and well-being in an equitable and inclusive manner participating in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan communicating with, and providing ongoing advice to the principal on school-related mat- ters collaborating with the principal to coordinate community resources that support student learning, achievement and well-being

Please join Mrs. Waiser and the School Council for our next meeting on Tuesday March 10

th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the library.

York Region District School Board Summer Institute

Online Registration Opens on March 10

Summer Institute offers academic, recreational and athletic programs and activities with intentional links to the Ontario Curriculum for students entering Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

We are pleased to offer online registration this year. Registration for Summer Institute will open on March 10 at 4:00 pm. You can find information about Summer Institute and registration at www.yrdsb.ca

Families can also continue to register in person or by mail at Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre for Learning, 36 Regatta Richmond Hill L4E 4R1.
