Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Avo Playhouse and Moonlight’s 18th Winter Season! It’s always a joy to re-inhabit this intimate playhouse, completely refurbished by the City of Vista from its historic 1948 movie theater origins. We are pleased to offer our patrons this season a robustly engaging selection of shows: November’s production was the intriguing play filled with music and laughter: THE MAGIC FIRE, a story about a multicultural family in Buenos Aires during the last days of Peron. In January, we enjoyed the hit musical revue, ROUTE 66, starring four Texaco gas station jockeys who whisked us down memory lane with songs for the road. March brings us to the salty English seacoast of George Bernard Shaw’s YOU NEVER CAN TELL, a sparkling heart-tugging romantic comedy that entertains with wit and wisdom. We owe a world of thanks to the Moonlight Cultural Foundation Board and our Moonlight Angels’ Auxiliary Board and membership, who have created a fund-raising partnership with the City of Vista. These boards represent deeply committed, dedicated volunteers who work on behalf of Moonlight. We are extremely grateful to our generous Corporate Sponsors and Patrons, who make a profound contribution to this theatre and we’re delighted that you’ve chosen to engage your mind, heart and senses in the live theatre experience here at the Avo Playhouse! Enjoy the Season…Welcome!

SHOW SYNOPSIS by Jason HeilYOU NEVER CAN TELL tells the story of Mrs. Clandon and her three children, Dolly, Philip, and Gloria, who are returning to London after an 18-year absence. When Dolly goes to have a tooth pulled, the children are surprised to discover that the dentist’s crusty old landlord, Mr. Crampton, might actually be their long-lost father. Meanwhile, the penniless dentist Valentine has fallen head over heels at first sight for Gloria, a feeling that she reluctantly finds herself beginning to reciprocate! As the family navigates new loves and past wrongs, order is kept by the sagacious Waiter, who notes that the one thing to be sure of in life is that “You Never Can Tell.”

The Moonlight Angels is a dedicated group of volunteers, whose primary goal is to benefit the Moonlight through fund-raising and volunteerism. To find out how you can get involved or for

information on the Moonlight Angels Auxiliary call Lorna Stofer, President, at 760-439-7950.
