Car Rider Line Safety
Parents: In the morning as you approach the car rider line, it is very important that you pull your vehicle all the way forward to the front of the line (end of sidewalk near the bus lot) before stopping to let your child/ children out. Some students prefer to enter at the front of the building, while others prefer the side entrance. However, for safety reasons, everyone must pull up all the way forward and once the line stops moving, then your
child needs to exit your vehicle.
Also, all visitors must sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge before proceeding down either hallway.
Thank you in advance for helping to keep our students safe by following our safety procedures.

Favorite restaurant: On The Border – I love anything spicy!
Why did you became a teacher?: I’ve loved working with children since I was in middle school. I was a 4H camp counselor and worked with kids at my church. In high school, I tutored students at a local elementary school and loved helping them learn to read. I knew I wanted to do that as a career, and I’ve never looked back!
Favorite thing to do when not at school: Spend time with my 2 children. We love going to the park, Lake Tillery and the beach.
Silliest fact about you: I love to do the voices of the characters in the Junie B Jones book series when I read aloud to my class. I try to think what they’d sound like in real life. My class thinks it’s hilarious!
Most rewarding part about being a teacher: For me the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the smiles on my students’ faces (and the hugs I get) when they realize they can do something that they didn’t think they could do. In first grade they make huge leaps in what they are able to do from the beginning of the year until the end, and it’s a joy to be a part of the beginning of their education.

Volunteer Spotlight for March
Ann has two daughters at Fairview, one in 4th grade and one in 1st grade. This year, Ann took on
the role of Room Parent Coordinator. She also organized Grandparent’s Day. She's a room parent and has helped with Boosterthon, Wonderful
Wednesdays, Treasure Cards, and more. She has helped behind the scenes for years and we are so grateful for everything she does!
News from PTO• Board Positions - 2 positions will be open for next year. Elections are in May but
anyone interested can contact the board now to learn more. We are particularly interested in anyone with accounting experience.
• We are always looking for new volunteers. Monthly PTO meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30am in the PTO office.
• Thank you to everyone that supported the 5th grade legacy fundraisers! The Candy Grams and Garden Flag sales were a success!
• Thank you to everyone that sold Treasure Cards to support our school! Sales have ended and all unsold cards need to be turned into school by Monday the 12th. Prizes are being distributed.
• Both the American Girl Night and Harry Potter Night events were a huge success! Thank you to all that participated and especially to Mrs. Shulman for doing an excellent job coordinating both!
• Our Spring Flower Sale is coming up in April and more details will be shared as soon as possible.
