They have been an integral part of the Sandy Lions Club and their contribution to the success of our Club has been invaluable over the years. Fred served as President from 2001 to 2003 and then again in 2007-08. Apart from the other roles he has undertaken, he was a most entertaining Tail Twister. Barb was responsible for the successful En-Plein-Air fundraising art competition over a number of years and gave her support to many other Club activities. We wish them well on the next stage of their life’s journey. May it be filled with many blessings, love and happiness. You will both be missed and thank you for all your years of loyal service. Baysiders are encouraged to take part in the 2014 Earth Hour by switching all lights off at home on 29 March between 8.30 - 9.30pm. Proceeds will go to the Family Life Children’s Book Fund - supporting educational needs of children. Vicky McKay, Fundraising Manager and Andrea Carrington Family Support Worker for Family Life with Lion Bev and President Denise Lion Roger assisting PDG Tony Carr with the packaging of the desks and chairs at the Rotary DIK Store in West Footscray which will be shipped to Timor Leste where they are much needed and will be put to good use. A Monumental Man ! March Eye Donor Awareness Month Lions can play a key role in promoting the importance of eye donation and its life changing effects on corneal recipients. The Lions Eye Bank can teach us how to get involved with educational activities, community awareness events et al. For more information visit Eye Bank Association of America’s website. FAREWELL - Barbara & Fred Stringer

We bid a fond farewell to Lions Barb and Fred who will be settling in Queensland at the end of April.
