Speed Stacking MastersCongratulations to our Wildcat Speed Stacking Team who competed in the Fletchers Meadow Stack Meet held last Friday. During the day students from grades 3 to 5 competed in various skill competitions including 3-3-3, 3-6-3, and the cycle. This is Westervelts second time competing in this tournament and we got the opportunity to battle against the same eight teams from neighbouring schools as last year. We earned a respectable 6th place finish out of nine schools. Our overall record didn’t reflect the amazing effort and improvement our Wildcat team showed throughout the day, as well as throughout the year.

All 15 students had fun, performed well and of course represented our school with fantastic sportsmanship and an overall positive attitude throughout the day.

Individual Accomplishments:Grade 3- Nevaeh earned a 9th place finish out of 45 Grade 3 competitors

Grade 5- Minh earned a 3rd place finish out of 45 Grade 5 competitors

Well done Speed Stackers we are extremely proud of your

accomplishments.

Our Speed Stacker Participants: Marcell, Nevaeh, Aiden, Aarav, Sienna, Erickson, Daniel, Karmeen, Vani, Anika, Minh, Silas, Veerdeep, Gavin, and Sharon

On February 16th the Earth Rangers and

Tech Challenge! Our Technological Skills Challenge Day in February, enabled students to obtain authentic experiential, hands-on learning opportunities while working collaboratively to demonstrate their skills learned. Our Grade 4 and 5 teachers have worked hard to bring our students authentic opportunities to explore various technology challenges.

Character EducationLast month our Grade one classes hosted our monthly assembly and shared with us the importance of being INCLUSIVE. Thank you to Ms. Martucci, Ms. Sohail, Ms. Gardash, Ms. Hansra, Ms. Calder, Ms. Dennis and Ms. Tomanov’s classes. Our Character Trait for March is Honesty. Being truthful, trustworthy and sincere in what you say and do.You show HONESTY when you:

Tell the truth - be sincere, genuine and trustworthy. Take responsibility for your actions and words. Admit to your mistakes. Play by the rules. Do what is right, even when no one is watching.
