Dear Parents,
The year continues to
move swiftly by us as I
watch your children ma-
ture both physically and
emotionally. Middle
School is such a unique
time for our emerging
adolescents. They
are struggling with
who they are and
how they fit in. I
often tell parents
that the standards
your family sets
really will make the
difference as they
face very difficult
choices. Keep up
your efforts! It’s
worth it.
We will have a
staff development day on
Friday, March 16. There
will be no school for stu-
dents.
Interim reports were
available on-line as of
Friday, March 9. If you
have questions about a
particular comment or
grade, please contact the
appropriate teacher.
We are in the initial
stages of developing class
lists for 2012-2013. If
you have concerns re-
garding your child's
placement for next year,
please submit them in
writing to Mrs. Turner in
the Middle School Office
by April 30, 2012. We
do not honor teacher
requests. We also do
not honor team non-
requests. Students enter-
ing seventh grade are
placed in home rooms
alphabetically.
Please make note of
the events listed on the
district and Middle
School Messenger calen-
dars.
We appreciate your
continued support for
having students in school

ART• i •FACTS Here’s what’s happening in the art room…
New sixth and seventh grade students are at work in the art room now as the second semester is
under way. Sixth grade students are beginning work on coil construction clay bowls, while seventh
grade artists have begun designing winter landscape compositions. The fifth grade students have
completed their research of famous artists by writing acrostic poems highlighting information about
the artists’ lives.
Several fifth grade students now have their exceptional pencil self portraits on display at Com-
mon Grounds, along with some of last semester’s sixth grade students’ cut paper relief designs. Be
sure to stop by for a hot cup of java, and some equally hot art work!
Meanwhile, back in the art room, members of the After School Art Club have completed color-
ful still life pictures of citrus fruits with bottles, in which they demonstrated their skill at showing
shadows and reflections. What talented students we have here at the Cazenovia Middle School!
A Message from the School Store As the first half of the school year has
ended, please consider replenishing supplies at
our school store.
The store is open during lunch periods on
most Thursdays. We have pens, pencils, in-
dex cards, locker organizers, book covers,
staplers, dictionaries, lead pencil refills, plus a
lot more.
The profits go to the PTA which in turn
helps our teachers and students. Thanks for
your support!
