Eugenio was born into a family which, for most of the 19th century, was in service to the Holy See. The

Pacelli family had a long tradition of legal training. His grandfather, Marcantonio Pacelli, had been

minister of finance for Pope Gregory XVI and deputy minister of interior under Pope Pius IX from

1851 to 1870. He founded the L‘Osservatore Romano on July 20, 1860. His father Filippo Pacelli, was

as solicitor (lawyer) in the Congregation of the Sacred Rota. His brother, Francesco Pacelli, a Vatican

lawyer as well, was dean of the lawyers of the Rota.He was also the legal advisor to Pius XI, in which

role he negotiated the Lateran Treaty in 1929, bringing an end to the Roman Question. It established

the independence of the Papacy with the formation of Vatican City as a souvern entity. Francesco

Pacelli described in his Diario della Conciliazione details and difficulties of these negotiations from a

Vatican perspective.

“Why do Catholics ignore the unscrupulous manipulations of the

truth? Do Catholics lack courage to fight for justice? Some Catholics

tolerate a sustained campaign of denigration of Pope Pius XII. This

was not the case for one Catholic woman, Marchesina Elena

Rossignani Pacelli, daughter of the Pope's sister, Elisabetta, who publicly came to his defense. Alone she instituted a calumny suit.”

Yours Is A Precious Witness

Sister Margherita Marchione (Author)

Robert Katz

Robert Katz was born June 27, 1933. He was an American novelist, screenwriter, and non-fiction

author. Katz was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Sidney and Helen Katz. As a writer, he began

at the American Cancer Society in New York and then at the United Nations in New York and Rome

(1963–64). He was a freelance writer from 1964 until his death.

A criminal-libel case involving Katz and others in Italy over the contents of his book Death in Rome, in

which he was charged with "defaming the memory of the Pope" Pius XII regarding the Ardeatine

Massacre of 335 Romans and 70 Jews at the Ardeatine Caves in 1944. The case ended with the charges

being dismissed in 1980 by Italy's highest court. The suit had been issued by the Pope's family.

He Died October 20,2010 in Italy as a result of cancer surgery

The first edition of Death in Rome was published in the United States on January 30,

1967. A few days earlier, a reporter in the Rome bureau of United Press International,

having read an advance copy, defined what would become its central issue for a long

time afterward. He sought a response from the Vatican to the contention that Pope Pius

XII knew of the impending massacre and, for reasons adduced in the book, made no

discernible attempt to prevent it. The Vatican spokesman, giving the journalist a story

carried around the world, said the charge would be "simple to disprove because it is a

vicious lie."

The role of the pope in the events of March 23 and 24, 1944, was only one of the

questions discussed in the book. All were of matching importance, I believed. The reader

will find them presented at the outset, in my original introduction. There, I stated my

intention to re-examine the events with a view toward understanding the larger issue of

how totalitarian rule was confronted in a particular place and time. The truth was,

however, that I had written my book and it was now appearing under the impact of the

enduring passions stirred by Rolf Hochhuth's 1964 play, The Deputy. His work, along

with the seminal research of Saul Friedländer, had dramatized for all the world the

failure of Pius XII to protest Hitler's extermination of Europe's Jews. It was therefore

hardly surprising that attention would focus on this aspect of Death in Rome. One result,

I imagine, was that the book went on to be published in nineteen editions in thirteen

countries and in ten languages, though the Vatican never fulfilled a public promise to

respond in the Osservatore Romano "after the book was published."

It was not until Death in Rome was made into a film, Massacre in Rome, starring

Richard Burton and Marcello Mastroianni, and found its widest audience when released

internationally in the fall of 1973 that a response of sorts was forthcoming. Criminal

charges for having "offended the memory" of Pius XII were filed in Rome against

Robert Katz as the writer of the book and the film and against the film's producer, Carlo

Ponti, and director, George P. Cosmatos. The complaint had been brought by Pope Pius's

niece, Elena Pacelli Rossignani, and thus, in January 1974, a ten-year court battle began

to establish whether a crime of high insult had been committed in the Eternal City.

"The book aroused international religious and political controversy; the film brought the

controversy to court, culminating in a two-year criminal trial. Katz was ultimately

convicted and sentenced to 14 months in prison for defaming the memory of Pope Pius

XII. The verdict was overturned on appeal and later the case was dismissed by Italy's

Supreme Court.

Attorney Giorgio Angelozzi Gariboldi defended Elena Rossignani Pacelli on

November 28, 1973. The Italian courts found Ponti, Katz, and the film director George

Cosmatos guilty of calumny. They were sentenced on November 27, 1975. This was

appealed, later reversed and, finally, the case ended February 7, 1981, in favor of Pope

Pius XII. In 1983, the Italian Supreme Court confirmed the original sentence. Katz

received a suspended jail sentence, a 400,000 Lire fine and court costs. Robert Katz

claims that the Supreme Court of Cassation ultimately ruled in his favor by declaring

the 1981 verdict against him as "annulled" due to the 1970 amnesty. But in the final

1983 verdict, Katz was forced to pay court costs. In both "La Civiltà Cattolica" and in

"Columbia Magazine" (December 1983), historian Robert Graham, SJ, pointed out

Robert Katz's errors, misrepresentations and falsifications. During the trial Katz used

the alleged testimony of an SS officer in Rome, Eugene Dollmann. However, the court

itself was transferred to Munich, where it heard Colonel Dollmann give the lie to the

claims of Katz.

When summoned to the Tribunal, Father Graham suggested that testimony be

requested of Eitel Friedrich Moellhausen, the German consul general living in Rome

during the Nazi occupation. Moellhausen wrote that, in German circles, no mention

was ever made about Plus XII having had knowledge of the Nazis' plans before

reprisals were executed.

THE LAST GREAT ROMAN

A MAN OF PRAYER AND PEACE

In 1941 and 1942, under pressure from U.S. President F.D. Roosevelt and others in the Western

Allied camp wanting to soothe any religious objections to the Western Alliance‘s military

relations with the Soviet Russia, Pope Pius XII was led to believe that acceptance of the Western

Alliance‘s association with the Soviet Union was the lesser of two evils facing Europe and the

Western Christian world at that time. The Pope knew enough about the philosophical creeds of

Marxism and National Socialism to make up his own mind, which he did. He looked to the future

of Germany and saw two distinct social realities on the horizon: Soviet Communism and National

Socialism under the leadership of Adolf Hitler and knew that only one would survive would take

over the immediate political future of Germany.

In the six years that Nuncio Eugenio Pacelli spent in Munich, from 1919 to 1925 he gathered

information about this new personage on the scene, Karl Heinrich Marx, German philosopher,

economist, and social theorist. He soon learned that much of the gathered information was

beginning to frighten him as a man and as a Papal Nuncio. By the time he, Pacelli, was posted to

Berlin in 1925 he knew the life and thoughts of Karl Marx in fine detail. Pacelli visited the town

where Marx was born and raised, Tier, and visited the University of Bonn where Marx was a

student for a year. He had personal interviews with living relatives of Marx and of Jerry von

Westphalen, Karl Marx‘s wife.

During his stay in Berlin, Cardinal Pacelli read the records of Karl

Marx‘s studies at the

University of Berlin. He also visited the boarding house where Marx

lived while in Berlin and

went to Stralau where Marx met regularly with members of the

Young Hegelians. Pacelli

inspected police records which displayed records of anarchistic

activity by the members of the

Doktor-Klub of which Marx was a member.

Pacelli noticed that Karl Marx early in his youth had written a

composition titled The Union of

the Faithful with Christ, in which Marx exalted the social and spiritual Christian brotherly love

amongst men and societies. This theme of the value and benefits of Christianity continued in other

early writings. Then suddenly this all changed and Marx wrote poetry and hymns charged with

anti-Christian themes which now praised the destructive power expressed in the Faustian phrase

―Everything in existence is worth being destroyed.‖

Benito Mussolini also saw the menace of the Soviet Communist threat to Italy and to Europe early

in his political career. He saw that this threat was not only limited to the Soviet Union, but rather

was a threat of worldwide sovietization and the very real possibility of a Western European

Soviet, not only in the form of an armed military takeover but also a slow peaceful infiltration of

the Western World with the philosophical and political programs of Marxism -- a friendly open

form of Marxism posing as fellow comrades with the Christian countries of Europe -- a

diplomatic Marxism.

Pius XII speaks about Benito

Mussolini

Come ha affermato il Papa Pio XII, <il più grande uomo da

me conosciuto e senz’altro fra i

più profondamente buoni: al riguardo ho troppe prove per

dimostrarlo>. 1952

As affirmed by Pope Pius XII, <the greatest man I have ever met and without doubt among

the most kindhearted: for this matter I have a lot of evidence to prove it>. 1952

Bea knows what is bothering the pope. In 1941-1942, under pressure from U.S. President Roosevelt

among others, Pacelli had collaborated in soothing religious objections to the Western

Alliance with Soviet Russia against Hitler. He had yielded to the argument that Hitler was the greater of

two evils. But what if he had chosen neither? Now Pacelli is afraid that he had thereby helped Marxism

in taking over Europe and the whole world.

Bea consoles him. ―Who could have known that the Anglo-Saxons would let the Russians go that far? 4

Benito Mussolini

The Last Great Italian

Excerpts From The Last Centurion Volume I

Was Mussolini a Man of Political, Economic, and Social Vision?

Historians and governments have shaped the way we think of the combatants and

leaders of the Second World War. But are these beliefs we have correct? How did

Mussolini come to power and is the information that has been provided to you an

accurate assessment of the man? Being aware of the harmful and dishonest information

that has been propagated by modern media and the damage this has done and is doing to

the reputation and legacy of Mussolini and the Italian people, the author has written this

concise historical biography of Benito Mussolini and the Italian Nation, spotlighting

their mutual histories from the dawn of the twentieth century to 1945. The author has

place years of research and passion into this historical biography of Mussolini because

like many other historians he believes that there is much more to learn about the man

than the last few years of his life. The author has a passion for accuracy and a true sense

of history. In his biography of Mussolini he does not take lightly nor dwell on the time

period of WWII, but he gives us a view of the man, his passion for his country and his

skills as a statesmen. Historians and governments have provided us with the facts of

WWII and the media has reported it to the world. These media reports have shaped our

judgment of that time period and time has left us with headline thoughts and beliefs, few

of us really know the history of Mussolini. The author will take you through the life of

Mussolini from his beginnings, his rise to power, his love of his country, and his work in

the development of a Nation. The author has dedicated years of research assembling the

information provided in this book. However this biography is more than the just years of

research work. The author's enthusiasm for the subject has made possible the quality and

accuracy of this book. Once you have read the book you will have a different view of the

life of Benito Mussolini.

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was born on July 29, 1883 at Varano di Costa a

hamlet overlooking the village of Dovia in the commune or county of Predappio, in the

province of Romagna in the northeast section of Italy.

His father Alessandro, although a fierce anticlericalist and an ardent politicalist, was a

man not without compassion. His heart and mind were always filled and pulsing with

socialistic theories. A dark-haired, good natured man, not slow to laugh, with strong

features and steady eyes. The affection of the masses, their poverty, their inadequate

nourishment, unemployment, and the social conditions which forced them

to emigrate, all moved him to tears and constant protest.

The Mussolini family led a life of poverty. They possessed almost no furniture and in

the winter could afford virtually no heating. There was also very little to eat; on

weekdays there was only vegetable soup for lunch and chicory for supper. On Sundays,

they had a pound of mutton for broth.

MUSSOLINI IN THE WORLD

EXCERPTS FROM THE LAST CENTURION VOLUME III

LEGACY EDITION

In 1914, Mussolini shrewdly noted, during a visit to Berlin, that militarism

was once again rearing its head. He saw and objected to Pan-

Germanism; first because it was dangerous to Italy, and second because

of the general acceptance of the racial theories of Houston Stewart

Chamberlain [1] and others, which were subsequently adopted by Hitler.

They seemed to him to be ridiculous. He was opposed to anti-Semitism

on the grounds that the Jews were an essential historical and useful

element in Italian society.

Condemnation of anti-Semitism abound in Mussolini's speeches, writings

and conversations. In 1933 and 1934 he was an open opponent of

Germany's racial policies. He instructed the Italian ambassador in Berlin

to make personal representations to Hitler expressing Italy's concerns

concerning those odious policies. These unsolicited and unwelcomed

representations became unpleasant to Hitler and he rejected out of hand

the ambassador's Fascist views on these matters of German social policy.

He was however strongly opposed to Italian and international Zionism on the basis that

Zionism was more political than a representation of the Jews of the world, and that it

was calculated to provide a conflict of loyalties in the Jewish people. He wanted to

demonstrate to the world that Fascism, with its Latin humanity, was a superior and more

desirable option than the Nazi barbarism, then becoming a social reality.

MUSSOLINI AND RELIGION

MUSSOLINI AND ITALIAN JEWISH CITIZENS

While the treatment of Jews by the Romans in Palestine was often harsh, relations with

the rulers in Rome were generally much better. Julius Caesar, for example, was known

to be a friend of the Jews; he allowed them to settle anywhere in the Roman Empire.

According to historians, when Caesar was assassinated by Brutus in 44 B.C.E., Roman

Jews spent day and night at Caesar‘s tomb, weeping over his death. His successor,

Augustus, also acted favorably toward the Jews and even scheduled his grain

distribution so that it would not interfere with the Jewish Sabbath. Two synagogues

were founded by slaves who had been freed by Augustus (14 C.E.) and by Agrippa (12

B.C.E.).

ROMAN JEWS WERE NEVER SLAVES

Jews were brought to Rome by Pompey the Great and were soon appreciated for their

financial and medical skills. They continued to prosper and grow in numbers. Jews

migrated to every other region and province in Italy, where they formed important and

viable communities. They were brought to Rome to be placed in the role of a teacher and

guardian of the children of Roman families. They were never considered to be a people

committed to a life of slavish work.

Only in 1556, when they were forced to live inside a walled enclosure in the middle of

Rome, was there any systematic persecution of the Jewish population of Rome.

Israel during that time, and there is evidence of several synagogues and Jewish

catacombs. Two of the catacombs are open to the public, and are located in the same

area outside of the city at the Catacombs of San Callitso. Despite various conflicts,

persecutions, and outright wars, there has been a strong Jewish community in Rome

ever since.

IMPERIAL ROME REBORN

by John Patric

I stood under Benito Mussolini‘s office window after Addis Ababa fell. I saw him throw

his strong right arm and say, slowly and distinctively: ―The war is finished!‖

The Roman Empire was reborn that night. Later it was named, ― L‘Impero Italiano,‖ yet

Romans rule it surely as their fathers from the near-by Forum ruled most of the world

they knew.

Empires have fallen. This one — and this one alone — has risen again.

More than 26 centuries ago the wolf-suckled twins quarreled and Remus was slain for

leaping scornfully over the wall of Romulus‘ new town. Far from having been ―built in a

day,‖ the Eternal City is unfinished even now; and to her seven hills more and finer

roads than ever lead from far places.

One day I had been with newspaper folk in the reclaimed Pontine Marshes near Rome.

As we lunched informally with Il Duce in a little Littoria restaurant, I learned what upon

what meat this modern Caesar feeds. Mussolini talked some, listened most, and smiled

often, rolling his eyes so much that my strongest memory now is a continual sight of the

whites. Above one close-clipped, iron gray temple a large mole added homely character

to his nearly bald head. Tucking an napkin protectively beneath his black collar, he ate

with quick, nervous motions — bread, noodles, cheese, pork-and-peas, an orange, and

drank a little Frascati wine.

ROME IS A HAVEN FOR MANY AN ALIEN. I TALKED WITH JEWS RUNNING

BUSY AUTO WRECKING SHOPS AND WONDERED HOW MANY OLD CARS

AMERICA WOULD SCRAP IF METAL JUMPED TO WAR PRICES AND FOUR

GALLONS OF GAS COST FIVE DOLLARS.

―THERE ARE PERHAPS 25,000 OF US IN ROME,‖ REMARKED THE FATHER OF

A LARGE FAMILY WHOSE YOUNGER MEMBERS WATCHED HIM MELT

BABBIT

FROM BRONZE BEARINGS, ―MANY OF US FOUGHT IN ETHIOPIA. WE ARE

FREE TO WORSHIP AS JUDEA, BUT WE ARE ROMANS TOO.‖

ANOTHER JEW, A RETIRED CLOTHING MERCHANT SAID HE LIVED IN

ROME BECAUSE ―HERE I FEEL MORE EQUALITY THAN I HAVE EVER

KNEW.‖

Mrs. Olivia Rossetti Agresti invited me to her home. I should have gone had she been

just granddaughter to Gabriele Rossetti, Italian poet and liberal, who fled to England in a

uniform lent by a British admiral.

It would have been interesting had she been the only daughter of William Michael

Rossetti, biographer of Shelley, Blake, and Walt Whitman, or only Dante Rossetti‘s

niece. Mrs. Agresti, born in England, had lived in Italy 25 years. She is now a delightful

Roman of fame almost legendary, a writer with a sense of humor, two alert

grandchildren, walls of mystically beautiful Rossetti water colors.

I should have gone anyway. The invitation was for Easter Dinner.

I said I had been that morning at Saint Peter‘s in the Vatican.

― Sixty thousand is not unusual Easter attendance,‖ she said, ―and didn‘t you understand

more fully why we call ourselves ‗catholic,‘implying ‗universality.‘

―Yes I replied. ―Fine gowns rubbed elbows with peasant clothes. I saw representatives

of the races of mankind, and no inequality in worship of a common ideal.‖

―I don‘t blame your people for thinking Mussolini ruthless,‖ she said. ―Those stern

bronze busts and unsmiling pictures Americans see make him look Julius Caesar at his

worst. I often tell the Government so, but the idea seems to make him appear an ‗iron

dictator.‘ Personally unselfish, really most human, he probably works hardest of all

Italians. I know about that — I went with him recently to the Stresa Conference.‖

Over tiny cups of black coffee in the library I talked law with the diplomat‘s father, still

actively practicing. I asked about jury trials. ―We believe in them. But we don‘t think

judgment by ‗twelve of a man‘s peers selected by lot‘ is fair either to the accused or to

the State. A jury of masons, housewives, and shopkeepers cannot know the law, cannot

examine evidence dispassionately. Our jurymen are especially selected for each case by

the court for their knowledge of its subject, their scientific fairness, and their legal

training.‖

EUR is a residential and business district in Rome, Italy. The area was originally planned as the site

for the 1942 world's fair which Benito Mussolini planned to open in 1942 to celebrate twenty years of

Fascism; the letters standing for Esposizione Universale Roma. In urban planning terms, EUR was

designed to direct the expansion of the city towards the south-west, connecting it to the sea. The

planned exhibition never took place due to World War II.

Mussolini’s Inglorious Enemies

Recently three news events have been transmitted for a worldwide media audience – all

are aimed at destroying the political legacy of Benito Mussolini, the Prime Minister of

Italy from 1922 to 1943. They have revealed once and for all who and what political

organizations are the behind these vicious, mean spirited attacks on Mussolini and the

Italian people. Who they are and how they finance and achieve these blatant attempts to

discredit this period of Italian history, are revealed for all to see.

The first is a Zionist story:

Jewish Groups Protest Popular iPhone App Sales of Mussolini Speeches

Jewish groups and Holocaust survivors have protested to Apple over Italy's current best-

selling iPhone application: a collection of the speeches of Benito Mussolini, the Fascist

dictator. Demand for "iMussolini", subtitled "The man who changed the history of our

country", has risen to the point where it is being downloaded 1,000 times a day

according to Luigi Marino, 25, its creator. It is more popular than a video game based on

the film Avatar and an X-ray machine app which "allows you to see your friends naked".

The app, which costs 79 Euro cents, contains audio, video and text of 100 speeches .. ..

These Zionists know full well that the Jewish people of Italy and France were protected

from any harm during the twenty four years of Benito Mussolini's Italian government

but simply do not want the world to know this documented truth, because if it becomes

public knowledge their game is up!

The second is a Communist story:

Vincere – Opened on Friday February 5, 2010. (Santa Barbara International Film

Festival)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156173/

The historical event that Signore Bellocchio selected to popularize via this film is the

story in the life of Benito Mussolini, that began in Austria in 1908 early in his life, when

he was 25 years old and a very long time before became a public figure in Italy and the

world.

Marco Bellocchio: Member of the Maoist group Unione dei Comunisti Italiani

Marxisti-Leninisti (known as "Servire il Popolo") until 1969. The group also

produced a few documentary movies of his.

The Third is a Free Masonry story:

Benito Mussolini: Fascist, Dictator, British spy?

Leave it to the British to spread anti- Mussolini misinformation whenever and however

they can. They have a very checkered history of preventing anyone smarter than their

own self image of a civilized, progressive society – they have dominated, exploited,

enslaved, and murdered more colonized people than any other nation on earth. The

British Empire became a money machine to provide a luxurious and pretentious living

for the home crowd of aristocratic men and women. History will find their names listed

as the chief aggressors and participants of every major war in the past two hundred

years. They sent their finest young men from each of their colonial nations off to be

killed in wars that were intended to produce more wealth and dominion for the Empire.

These three political forces, Zionism, Communism, and Freemasonry will not rest, until

they completely destroy any remaining history of the benevolent political, economic and

social programs initiated by Il Duce for the Italian nation from 1922 to his death in

1945. They are ideologies formed early in the twentieth century by Jewish politicians

known now as Zionists, Communism, was born in Russia as a social consequence of the

Soviet Russian Revolution in 1917. Freemasonry, and its host of strange bedfellows, has

its roots in medieval England and remains as important to the English nobility today as

its own Royal Family.

Excerpts from the Wall Street Journal, December 22, 1993

AN ARMY OF SCHINDLERS FROM ITALY

BY DOROTHY RABINOWITZ

JOURNAL EDITORIAL WRITER

Oskar Schindler, flawed hero of Steven Spielberg‘s monumental film, ―Schindler‘s List,‖ came

to Poland a profiteer and ended up a rescuer of many hundreds of Jewish lives. His story‘s entry

into the world, via Mr. Spielberg‘s justly celebrated film, calls to mind a number of other

unlikely rescuers of whose exploits little has been heard, however much they are known to

historians.

I have in mind, namely Hitler‘s allies, the Italians, whose government ministries and army and

highest political circles moved heaven and earth to see to it that not a single Jew was deported

from Italy. They schemed, they plotted, they resorted to the wiliest of strategies and delaying

efforts -- including the invention of the most wonderful complicated ―census-taking‖ known to

man -- to ensure that no Jews under their governance fell into German hands. Not for nothing

does the history of these plots sometimes read like farce.

Not only would the Italian government -- reflecting the popular attitude of the citizenry at large

-- resist deportation, its army and consuls undertook extraordinary efforts to rescue Jews in their

zones of occupation. As an Axis partner, Italy‘s forces occupied a large sector of Greece, part of

Yugoslavia, and eight sectors of southeastern France, including Nice.

The attitude of the occupying Italians with regard to Germany‘s extermination plans for the

Jews was made immediately clear to the great distress and confusion of the Germans and their

French allies. For, as soon as the Vichy government rounded up Jews for arrest and deportation,

the Italians military and foreign ministry demanded -- and obtained -- a stop to the arrests and

deportations.

In Annecy, the French police, who had rounded up a trainload of Jews for deportation, found

themselves looking at the barrels of guns trained on them by soldiers of the Italian Fourth Army

In Greece, the Italian consuls and military - witness to the brutal deportations taking place

before their eyes -- busied themselves handing out phony certificates of ―Italian nationality‖ to

the hunted Jews.

In Nice, the Italian commandant stationed carabinieri outside the Jewish communal center and

synagogue to make certain that Vichy police could not enter to make arrests.

What there was in the character of the Italians that made their resistance to mass murder so

implacable, so different from that of the Vichy French, is a question we may ponder -- and one

for whose existence we may be grateful.

FASCISM AND COMRADES OF HEBREW RELIGION

It is useless to deny that in the national-popular universe there exists different opinions both on the

question of present Israel or on the Jewish Italian world or, better said, on Italians of Hebrew religion.

The Jews in our national territory have never been actually persecuted by Italians who n the vast

majority of cases they themselves hid the Jews at the risk of their own lives and often paying with dire

consequences. And we have numerous examples of soldiers, officers, officials, and comrades of the

Militia, Police, and Carabinieri who defended them and removed them from the furious and murderous

irrationality of German killers. And we have heroes like Perlasca, comrade of the Spanish war and sent

to the East, a Fascist from the start, who with his incredible effort, saved thousands to the point that he,

a Fascist, was honored in Israel as ― Righteous Among Gentiles‖.

It is true that Italy, because of its alliance with Hitler, produced the most ridiculous ―Race Manifest‖

but never with the terrible consequences as in Germany where the infamous ―Nuremberg Laws‖

allowed every possible abuse on harmless people who were at the mercy of the Gestapo.

Is there still resentment and suspicion from the Italian Right against the Jews? No, there is a rage of a

different nature and an irrational pressure of a minority that directs over them traditional targets and

divergent frustrations not bound to a coherent political train of thought and to adult and mature

behavior. How many ties there are between the Fascism and the Comrades of Hebrew religion?

Many, even though both the Right and the national and international Hebrew community have willingly

ignored them because of that absurd policy of a partly historic revisionism. There was a great number

of Italian Jews who supported the ascend of ―Il Duce Mussolini‖ five of them were among the 119 who

founded the Italian Fascism Corps at San Sepolcro Square in Milan on the 23rd of March 1919 and

Cesare Goldmann was responsible for organizing the event.

Among the ―Fascists Martyrs‖ who died in the conflict between 1919 and 1922, three were the

Comrades of Hebrew religion, namely D. Senigaglia , G. Balaffi, and B. Mondolfo and 746 Italians of

Hebrew religion in 1923 were enrolled in the Fascist party while more than 300 were alongside Il Duce

in the famous ― March to Rome‖. And this without counting the immense economic contribution that

many of them gave to the newborn Fascist party and to the important friends of Mussolini.

Aldo Finzi, a Comrade of Hebrew religion, was the pilot who flew over Fiume together with

G.Dannunzio and was one of the nine elected in 1921 as Congressman and later became Vice-Secretary

at the Interior Ministry and a member of the Great Council.

Dante Almansi was second in command to the police chief De Bona and Guido Jung was Finance

Minister from 1932 to 1935. Maurizio Rava was Vice-Governor of Libya, Governor of Somalia and a

General of the Fascist Militia.

Renzo Ravenna was a very personal friend of Italo Balbo, a very first member of the Fascist

squad and for 15 years a Ferrara Podesta (Mayor). Ugo Foa was awarded decorations many times for

Militia Valor during the Great War, a lawyer, and among the very first enrolled in the Fascist Party was

very important Official until 1939.

And did you know that the first Dean of the University of Rome was Giorgio Del Vecchio a

Comrade of Hebrew religion? And what can we say of Margherita Sarfati, lover of il Duce before

Claretta Petacci, publisher assistant to the news paper ― Popolo D‘Italia‖ and Co- Editor of the

―Gerarchia‖ (Hierarchy), the ideological magazine of the Regime.

Aside from these cases, from 1929 to 1935 there were 4920 Comrades of Hebrew religion accepted

into the party and the exact percent (10%) of the Italian Hebrew population of that time and the same as

those enrolled to the Party in relation to the global population. And this until the ―Arian‖ blunder.

It is necessary to think and reflect on history itself without denying the evidence of the mistakes made

and in the hope of arriving at what J. Evola defined as ―The true awareness of the reality‖ in order to

reach moral and internal fulfillment.

THE IMPORTANCE AND ROLE OF SPIRITUALITY IN THE LIFE AND GOVERNMENT

OF BENITO MUSSOLINI

Mussolini, as do so many young men and women growing into their early adult life, paid little if

any attention to the importance of the fundamental and precious spiritual truths that were held by

their parents and others in their society who have lived a longer life than they have. At the

beginning of his life, his views on church and its clergy were formed at the knee of his father,

Alessandro Mussolini who lived a long and difficult life. Alessandro saw the clergy and the

Church as being shifting elements in the Risorgimento world of Italian politics from 1854 to 1910

the years he lived and worked in Predappio, Italy.

When Benito left home to work abroad as a laborer, teacher, writer, newspaper editor and

eventually owner - publisher, and when he began a family with his wife Rachele, he came under

far different religious and spiritual influences — some positive, some negative.

Assuming in 1922 the Supreme Political Command of Italy as the Prime Minister of a centuries

old Roman Catholic country, at the young age of thirty- nine years old he soon recognized the

importance and the spiritual value of the Church and its universal mission to one billion people

and the long held Catholic spirituality as lived and demonstrated by the fifty million citizens of

Italy. He had inherited from former Italian governments a festering sore of conflict and distrust

between the Holy See at the Vatican and the Government of Italy and The Kingdom of Italy. He

decided in 1929 which road he would follow. By his diplomatic triumph of The Lateran Pact, the

Church and the State both were confident and secure in their co-habitation of the City of Rome

and the Church‘s relationship with the Kingdom of Italy and Sovereignty of the House of Savoy

along with the sovereignty of the Holy See in Rome

His interest in religion continued to grow and take on greater meaning in his life. He often had

informal talks with priests of many ministries, several of whom became close friends. We Italians

are Catholics by conviction, he told a delegation of priests who came to talk with him. I am a

Catholic by conviction, because I believe that Catholicism is the religion which possesses a

doctrine capable of resolving all the problems of life, individual and social, national, and

international, and in the conflict between spiritualism and materialism it sustains and desires the

primacy and victory of the spirit.. A priest then asked him when will he return to the church to

receive the sacraments of the church, he said, let us wait a little, father. There is time, there is

time.

Could World War II and the Holocaust have been Prevented? THE FRONT PAGE OF THE NEW YORK TIMES DOCUMENTED THE EVENT WITH THIS HEADLINE:

Austrian Nazis Kill Dollfuss*…Italian Army, Navy, Planes Ready to Act. *The premier of Austria

Upon hearing the news of the German assassination of Austria’s Prime Minister Engelbert

Dollfuss, Mussolini gave orders for four divisions to be sent to the Brenner Pass. He wanted England and France to join him in protecting Austria from Hitler’s “Anschluss” plans but

received none. The Nazi takeover of Austria failed and Hitler was handed his first defeat by the timely and

forceful action of the Italian government. Italian appeals to France and Britain for a similar show of force against Hitler went unheeded.

The two leaders agreed to meet for their first time on June 14th 1934 in Venice to discuss

Germany’s plans for Austria. Mussolini advised Hitler that he would defend Austria’s sovereignty as an independent state, and admonished him for his persecution of the Jewand the Church. He took a dislike for all that Hitler said and told his advisers later that Hitler

talked too much and avoided current matters of State. Mussolini had saved Austria from the “Anschluss “ (political annexation).

Although popular history emphasizes the appeasement of Italian and German dictators during the late 1930’s as the cause of World War II, more and more evidence is pointing to an unwillingness of Great Britain to join in a collective security pact with Italy in the

early 1930’s. Their misjudgment not only sent the wrong signals to European powers but it prevented a united front against Nazi Germany early in the decade. Modern day war historians must reexamine the 1930’s with particular attention to such events as the Stresa

Front, the proposed 4-power pact, the 1934 Austrian crisis, the Anglo-German naval treaty of 1935, and the conflicts within the British cabinet.

The Stresa Front Conference at Stresa, Italy, April 11-14, 1935 was held at the initiative of Mussolini to discuss, with representatives of England and France, needed programs and agreements to contain the growing German military influence and menace in Europe.

ITALY DECLARES WAR ON GREAT Britain AND FRANCE JUNE 10, 1940

Italy’s Prime Minister Benito Mussolini speaks to the nation:

“The declaration of war has already been delivered to the ambassadors of Great Britain and France. We go to battle against the plutocratic and reactionary democracies of the west who, at every moment, have hindered the advance and have often endangered the very existence of the Italian people. Recent historical events can be summarized in the following phrases: promises, threats, blackmail, and finally to crown the edifice, the ignoble siege by the fifty-two states of the League of Nations. Our conscience is absolutely tranquil. (Applause). With you the entire world is witness that Fascist Italy has done all that is humanly possible to avoid the torment which is throwing Europe into turmoil; but all was in vain.

“If we want to survive we must fight. It is the

only way to bring an end to this war which the enemy has forced upon us.”

The Tragedy Of Benito Mussolini

The tragedy of Benito Mussolini is truly an Italian tragedy reflecting all the human values which are normally portrayed in great Italian theatre and on the opera stage, but there is no nation, no culture, no region on earth that is immune from living through a like or similar

tragedy. Their young sons and daughters may spring from the ranks of the poor to lead and transform a nation and a people only to find, once again, that the Internationalists of the world will decide their fate and destiny and the future of their nation from which they sprang,

with the cracking of whips and machine guns. In future generations Benito Mussolini will be forgiven all the sins that have been visited upon him, but the Italian people and citizens of the world will most definitely not forget him or his legacy.

THE WORLD BEFORE ZIONISM

IS ISREAL THE HOMELAND OF THE JEWS OF THE WORLD?

A Jew is one who remains faithful to the laws of the Jewish religion, that is, the Holy

Torah and its commandments.

The Jewish people became a people before they had their own land, and continued to

exist as a people also after they went Into exile, because our very peoplehood is based

exclusively on the Torah.

The Holy Land was given to the Jewish people on the condition that they observe the

Torah and its commandments. When they failed to do this, their sovereignty over the

land was taken from them, and they went into exile. From that time, we are prohibited

by the Torah with a very grave prohibition to establish a Jewish independent sovereignty

in the Holy Land or anywhere throughout the world. Rather, we are obligated to be loyal

to the nations under whose protection we dwell.

This situation has existed for close to 2000 years when the Jewish people were dispersed

throughout all corners of the world. During this time, the Jews always remained faithful

to the country in which they lived.

The Jewish people are grateful to all those merciful nations which have allowed them to

observe Torah and the commandments undisturbed.

From ancient times, the relations between the Jewish and Islamic peoples have always

been those of peace and brotherhood, and friendship always reigned between them. The

proof of this is the fact that for centuries, in all the Arab lands, hundreds of thousands of

Jews lived in honor and amidst mutual esteem.

Jews throughout all generations yearned to grace the sacred soil of the Holy Land and to

live there. However, their sole purpose was to fulfill the commandments dependent upon

the land and to absorb Its holiness. Never, G-d forbid, did they have any nationalist or

sovereign intent whatsoever which, as mentioned above, is forbidden to us. Indeed, also

here in the Holy Land, our fathers lived in neighborly harmony with the Palestinian

residents of the land, helping one another, to mutual benefit.

Until about two hundred years ago, the vast majority of Jews observed the Torah and the

commandments in entirety. Jewry's leaders were Torah scholars, who directed the people

according to the Torah. They were loyal citizens in the host nations where they dwelled

and to the local laws. They prayed for the welfare of their respective governments. To

our sorrow, at that time a small number of Jews slowly left their observance of Torah

and commandments. Together with this, they began to deride the spiritual leadership of

their people. This assimilation was the basis upon which, one hundred years ago, the

ideology of Zionism was born. Its founders were assimilated Jews who had abandoned

the Torah.

Immediately at the founding of the Zionist movement, masses of Jews under the

leadership of their Rabbis, launched a heavy battle against Zionism. Their attack was

directed not only at the non-religious Zionist idea, but rather, primarily at its opposition

to the Torah-ordained path that Jewry must follow while in exile. As such, the Zionists

incited the nations of the world, demanding political sovereignty over the Holy Land

while remaining oblivious to the resentment this would arouse In the Palestinian Arabs,

the land's veteran inhabitants. As stated, the leaders of Orthodox Jewry vehemently

opposed the movement with all force.

The Zionists refused to heed the voice of the Rabbis and Torah authority. They persisted

in their ways until they succeeded in influencing the British government to issue the

Balfour Declaration concerning the "establishment of a national home for the Jews in the

land of Israel." To our great sorrow, from that point on began the deterioration of the

good relations between the Jews and the Arab inhabitants of the land. This occurred

because the Arab people understood that the Zionists wished to seize rulership from

them. In addition, the Arab people had suspicions as if the Jewish people wished to seize

control of the Temple Mount and other similar sites. Matters worsened as a result.

The Jewish leadership of that time saw it as proper to clarify before the Arab leaders that

the Torah-true Jews had no desire whatsoever for sovereignty, and that our desire was to

continue to live in peace with the Arabs, as we had always done. The leader of the G-d-

fearing Jewish community at that time, Rabbi Yoseph Chaim Zonnenfeld. of blessed

memory, organized a delegation in July of 24' which visited King Hussein and his sons

Faisal the King of Iraq and the Amir Abdullah In order to lucidly present to them the

position of the G-d-fearing Jewish community. The Jewish delegation clarified

unequivocally that Torah Jewry is totally opposed to the Zionist sovereignty over the

Holy Land. It Is worth noting that the delegation was received with great honor. They

were even assured that all Arab lands were completely open to Jews, however, on the

condition that the Jews do not demand political rights. This condition also applied to the

Holy Land. One of the members of the Jewish delegation, Professor Yisroel Yaakov De

Haan, paid with his life for his participation.

Torah Jewry protests at every opportunity against the Zionist rule over the Holy Land,

and the Zionist rebellion against the neighboring nations. Torah Jewry has condemned

the Zionist oppression of the Palestinians, the land's veteran inhabitants who have been

driven from their homes and properties. The Zionists' barbaric and violent deeds are

absolutely antithetical to the essence of the Jewish people.

Torah Jewry has never ever recognized the Zionist state. Since the Zionists succeeding

in establishing their state, Torah Jewry has continuously announced to the world that the

Zionists do not represent the Jewish people, and that the name "Israel" that they use is a

forgery. For as has been stated above, it is forbidden to us from the Torah to rebel

against the nations, and all sovereignty by us is prohibited. Rather, we await the days

when all the world will recognize the sovereignty of the Creator, and the words of the

prophet Isaiah will yet be fulfilled: "And they will beat their swords into plowshares and

their spears into pruning hooks. No nation will lift its sword against any other, nor will

they learn warfare anymore."

Anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews have refrained to this day from taking any funds from the

Zionist regime, whether for their educational institutions, synagogues or other benefits.

Obviously, they do not participate in the Zionist elections, whether for the "Knesset" or

for the municipality. We do not serve in their army, and we even avoid speaking in the

Hebrew language that the Zionists Invented. (incidentally, this is not the holy and true

Hebrew language in which the Bible is written.) All this is done because Torah Jewry

does not recognize the Zionist regime, which Is against the Torah and against humanity.

Lately, the question has once again arisen concerning the Temple Mount and sovereignty

over it. Thus, we wish to state unequivocally: a) In our time, it is a severe Torah

prohibition for any Jew to set foot on any part of the Temple Mount area. b) The Jewish

people have no claim whatsoever to sovereignty over this holy site, which is under

Islamic authority, nor over any other holy site. Rabbi Zonenfeld was once asked, "is it

true, that the Rabbi prefers an non-Jewish government over all of the Holy Land"? Rabbi

Zonenfeld replied, "if King Hussein would rule over Palestine, the holiness of the Holy

Land would not be diminished to even to an Iota degree". We yearningly await G- d's

great day, when He will return His Divine Presence to Zion, restoring the holy city to its

former holiness and glory as in days of old, to be a light to the peoples and the nations.

The Zionists have no right of any sovereignty over even one inch of the Holy Land.

They do not represent the Jewish people in any way whatsoever. They have no right to

speak in the name of the Jewish people. Therefore, their words, declarations and actions

are not in any way representative of the Jewish people. This is because the Zionists'

seizing of power over the Holy Land is antithetical to Jewish law, and also because

the Zionists do not behave like Jews at all rather, they desecrate the sanctity of the land.

We once again clarify that it is our desire to live in peace with our Arab and Palestinian

neighbors, as we did before the Zionist revolution, and as Jews all over the world till

today live, accepting the yoke of rulership of their host nation, with complete loyalty.

Our sole desire is to serve our G-d and to fulfill His commandments with a perfect heart

and to delight in the radiance of the sanctity of the Land.

The last twelve years have been spent researching, writing, and designing my second book

on the life and times of Benito Mussolini titled: The Last Centurion – Volume II - A Political Road to Martyrdom. Today it is finally finished to my satisfaction and fulfills my every literary ambition and all my historical considerations. It is intended to communicate to the reader

previously little known or unpublished Italian historical military and political facts that are required by anyone hoping to gain a clear understanding of Italy’s role in the Second World War and to correctly understand many of the various underlying political principles and

motivations that led to the great European and Asian military conflicts of 1939-1945.

It is also a goal of this publication to provide the same reader with important and needed

political background information concerned with today’s existing turbulent political state of affairs. These must be seen as the offspring of the European and Asian political results of the military conclusions of WW2.

This 2000 year journey from Predappio to Rome and finally on to Messegra di Giuliano, Italy, gave the author the very important opportunity to learn about the infamous book of war

making instructions then being taught to the world by a corrupt group of sinister, clandestine political and military leaders seen at several cross roads along the way. Fellow pilgrims provided the author with invaluable and accurate information from Europe and the Americas

concerned with the matters discussed in the associated documents in this concluding essay. On July 11, 2003, everything changed in world affairs and following this dramatic change I had no doubt that the masks were off all the perpetrators of war making in our world since

1939.

ABSOLUTE MONARCHS

A History of the Papacy

by John Julius Norwich

Illustrated 512 pp Random House $30

John Julius Norwich makes a point of saying in the introduction to his history of the Popes that he is ―no scholar‖ and that he is ―an agnostic Protestant‖

Reviewers comments: By the time we reach the 20th century, about 420 pages in, our expectations are not high.

We get a disheartening chapter on Pius XI and Pious XII, whose fear of Communism (along with the church's

long streak of anti-Semitism) made them compliant enablers of Mussolini, Hitler and Franco. His indictment of

Pius XII – who resisted every entreaty to speak out against mass murder, even as the trucks were transporting the Jews of Rome to Auschwitz – in compact, evenhanded and devastation. ―It is painful to have to record‖,

Norwich concludes, ―that on the orders of his successors, the process of canonization has already begun.
