In 1949 Ludovico Mares designed and manufactured his first masks and spearguns with one purpose in mind: to share his unbridled passion for diving and the sea with the world.Over the years Mares has grown from humble beginnings as a small factory in Rapallo, Italy to become a driving force in diving.

Mares products speak for themselves, and our history is characterised by industry firsts. This kind of track record isn’t achieved without placing innovation at the very core of eve-rything you do.Products like the Avanti Quattro fin spring to mind, literally redefining the concept of a fin in 1990, and remaining the standard by which all others are measured 22 years later.
