FINANCIAL MARGIN

Page 3: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Every time someone takes a step in stewardship, they mark a significant spiritual victory, refusing to buy into the world's deceptions that our self-worth is determined by our net worth. And Scripture helps us in the task. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 on faith, but more than 2000 verses on money and possessions. In the Gospels, one out of ten verses deals directly with the subject of finances.

PROVERBS 21:20

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.

1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Page 9: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

OUR CULTURE’S DEFINITION OF HAPPINESS:

MORE THAN I CURRENTLY HAVE.

Page 11: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Our Culture is lying because what it says is that what you have is not always enough

Page 12: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

You to have buy what is Necessity for you first then buy what Satisfies then buy for Recognition

Page 13: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Our problem is not income problem but

it is lifestyle problem.

Page 14: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy… 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

MATTHEW 6:19-21

HOW DO WE CREATE

FINANCIAL MARGIN?

Page 16: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Earn more and spend less.

Page 17: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

YOU PUT GOD FIRST IN YOUR

FINANCES!

Page 18: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.(NIV)

MATTHEW 6:33

MALACHI 3:10

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

When we give our best to God then

God will bless the rest.

DAVID GREEN

Page 24: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

He is a 70 year old billionaire and founder of Hobby Lobby, an arts and crafts chain with 520 superstores in 42 states. Green and his family own 100% of the company and he ranks No. 79 on the list of the 400 richest Americans, with an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion.

Page 25: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

“If you have anything or if I have anything, it’s because it’s been given to us by our Creator,”

Page 26: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

says Green, “So I have learned to say, ‘Look, this is yours, God. It’s all yours. I’m going to give it to you.’” Green keeps the total amount of his giving private but Forbes has estimated his total lifetime giving at above $500million, making him the largest individual financier of evangelical causes in America.

Page 27: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Green sponsors the YouVersion Bible app for mobile phones which has already been downloaded over 50 million times. He also plans to give 90% of his wealth to ministry work when he dies. He is the owner of the largest private collection of biblical antiquities in the world and plans to open the Museum of the Bible within three years.

Page 28: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Green says, “For me, I want to know that I have affected people for eternity. I believe I am. I believe once someone knows Christ as their personal savior, I’ve affected eternity. I matter 10 billion years from now. I matter. Someone that does all this doesn’t matter. I’m sorry, it’s gone.”

Page 29: MARGIN 3 – 630PM EVENING SERVICE – PTR VETTY GUTIERREZ

Green recalls the memory of his parents’ putting their last dime on the collection plate. His father was a poor preacher yet despite their financial state, Green’s mother stepped out in faith and regularly gave to the church. He attributes his blessing to his mother’s giving and the fact that he continues to give today.

We can learn much from these Christian billionaires who have trusted God with their businesses, given towards Kingdom expansion and how, despite their extraordinary financial success, they remain humble and unashamed of the Gospel.
