My experience of working with students at Gustavus to help and see them mature into wonderful graduates changed my life. Diversity became important. Sue and I traveled to many parts of the world which reinforced
our thinking about diversity and helping others. Over the years our work with black students was especially rewarding.
I have had an amazing life with a terrific wife, raising 3 daughters (2 of which graduated from GAC), and now blessed with 4 grandchildren. My career in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry spanned 35 years. Twelve years were involved with expanding a chemical business in the international markets, and the last five I ran the entire
business as president. I am now working part time as a retail pharmacist, while serving on the board of the State Pharmacy Assoc. My main avocation has been masters level cross country ski racing. Along with a fellow skier John Tammi (GAC ’63), I skied from Russia to Sweden across Finland at the Arctic Circle this past March.
