Latinxs In Tech Latinxs In Tech vision is to increase the number of Latinxs and other underserved groups in the digital space by introducing a non-technical methodology that focuses on participatory but highly structured learning around social impact and tech-driven entrepreneurship. HTML | Tech in "Normal" English As a developer with a non-technical background (politics and communications), I know one of the most difficult challenges in the development process is effective communication. This is a challenge that is particularly prominent when it involves technical and non-technical team members working together. Project Goals: Design lesson plans that focus on making content as jargon-free as possible and slowly incorporating technical language when necessary to ensure effective communication. My Responsibilities: Design and teach a 10-week curriculum at the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula on qualitative and quantitative research, business plan writing, and web design focusing on HTML, CSS, and Javascript to design five social entrepreneurship websites designed and launched by students.

POSTERS | Engaging POC Engaging WOC and other underserved groups requires using content that appeals to them. I try to "put people in the picture" as much as possible and use language that is inclusive and welcoming to the group. Project Goals: Design posters and marketing material to focus on classes and workshops with the goal of teaching marketable skills. My Responsibilities: Design wireframes and prototypes of posters and create multiple iterations until approval by other event coordinators.

POSTERS

PRODUCT MANAGER | AMSU I worked with the Academy of Mt. St. Ursula to launch the high school's first tech program focused on web design. The students were all Juniors and all had an idea for a website they wanted to create to solve a social justice problem in their community. Project Goals: Create an afterschool bootcamp that would teach students how to ideate, prototype, and launch a social impact enterprise in 10-weeks. My Responsibilities: Design the full curriculum for the program and achieve 100% completion of websites by the second-to last week of the program.

CODE GUIDE | Summarizing Lesson Pans Students have often found themselves unable to both follow along during a code lesson and take notes. Additionally, students were seeking a way to get the major parts of the content in the lesson in a one-page easy to read format on which they count take quick points. Project Goals: Design one-pagers that focus on summarizing major points in an easy to read manner. My Responsibilities: Create major themes in lesson plans that can be easily diggested.

LATINXS IN TECH | White Paper The Latinxs In Tech proposal was created out of a natural curiosity to explore why I often found myself as the only Latinx in tech conferences. It was a weekend project to research data from the Census and other sources and provide a clear guide to the education, socieconomic, and psychoanalytical qualities that encourage and prevent Latinxs from being involved in digital spaces. Project Goals: Use data to drive strategic communication to target Latinx communities in DC. My Responsibilities: Gather all qualitative and quantitative research for this project and present it in a manner that is both engaging and provides a clear call to action.
