Pediatric Trauma Program
―Pediatric Trauma remains the leading cause of death and injury among children
ages 14 and under in the United States. The mission of our Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP)
is to develop local projects which will reduce the number of children in our three-state
District who are killed or injured by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy and
safe lives‖ (CNH Foundation)
Live2Learn
―The foundation is focused on attracting and training motivated individuals to be
funded to assist teachers and mentors in local communities to promote the following key
'life assistance' tools for kids aged between 7-14 years‖ (Live2Learn Foundation).
Project Eliminate
―With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces
to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly
60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the
disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and
extreme "sensitivity to light and touch‖ (The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis).

Congratulations to Sharon Chi for
becoming the September
Manatee of the Month! Even with
Sharon's constant involvement
with her school and family, she
always finds time for KIWIN'S
and she shows her dedication by
promoting the club whenever she
can outside of meetings and
events. Whenever she can come
to an event, Sharon always
comes prepared and on time to
work hard with a smile on her
face. She's an enthusiastic and
valuable member of the club, and
she has great leadership skills
that will take her very far in life!

F.A.Q.
. 1) What is KIWIN’S?
-We are a District of Key Club International,
located in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. We
promote good citizenship through service.
KIWIN'S perform service deeds with fellow
members to improve their schools and
communities. Local service gives KIWIN'S
members the satisfaction of seeing the results of
their efforts.
2) Why is KIWIN’S spelled with all caps and
apostrophe?
- KIWIN'S is not an acronym. However, it is
written in all caps with the apostrophe to
show its unique and individual spirit. The
apostrophe is an accent to help KIWIN'S
standout. The word "Kiwin" is the diminutive
of the word "Anokiwin," which translates to
"people, men and women, working together
in service." It is derived from the same
Otchipew Indian language as Kiwanis.
3) What are the KIWIN’S divisions?
- Crystal, Diamond, Emerald, Goldstone,
Jade, Jet, Ruby, Sapphire, and Turquoise are
the currently active divisions. Coral and Topaz
are currently inactive.
