It makes the preliminary design and draws up the technical specifications; searches for appropriate suppliers and shipyards; carries on technical, commercial and legal negotiations; and finally, concludes contracts. As Marine Design Engineer, you are responsible for the design of vessels and installations. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE: • Participate in the design and construction of new vessels and installations (ship resistance, stability, ship strength, ship motions,…). • Be responsible for the theoretical and scientific design of newbuilding vessels. • Execute calculations for the conversion or adjustment of vessels and installations. • Examine technical specifications and the way in which vessels operate in the fleet. PROFILE You have a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences with option Electromechanics/ Mechanical Engineering. Preferably, you have a background in shipbuilding and maritime techniques. You have proper knowledge about calculation methods, software and theoretical aspects applicable to the design of vessels and installations. You have sufficient analytical ability and creativity.
