The motor for this type of pump must satisfy the following conditions:

The thrust due to the weight of the rotating element acts downward. The maximum values are as show in

the following table

In order to support the pump rotating element the shaft end must be provided with threaded hole for

fitting the motor coupling.

Sleeve bearing & lubrication

The submerged type sleeve bearing is fitted

at the bottom of the pump and is lubricated

by handling water.

The pressure water of 1st stage is led to

sleeve bearing and returned to suction after

lubricating the sleeve bearing.

Vacuum pump unit

When a self priming system is required

a vacuum pump unit driven by pump motor

through the provided clutch. During the

pump operation, vacuum pump is stopped

automatically by releasing the clutch in

accordance with the handling water pressure

Vibration Stopper-The long shaft pump experiences abnormal movement due to the shaking

of the LO caused by the ship’s rolling and pitching.

In order to prevent this, the flange for fastening the

casing must be provided with a vibration stopper from the tank.
