Dubai Festival City Marina is located at the heart of Dubai Festival City on the banks of Dubai Creek. The water front promenade links the Marina to the InterContinental and Crown Plaza Hotels and the 2.8 million square foot known as the Festival Centre.

The Mediterranean-inspired marina has several unique customised features that include extra wide pontoons, a helicopter pad, Wifi, in-slip sewage pumpout, customised services pedestals and stainless steel mooring bollards. Dubai Festival City Marina is the region’s leading yacht dealer showcase marina and consistently gets coverage in leading publications such as Marina World. It is also a winner of the 2008 Arabian Gulf Yachting Awards.

The project’s scope included all phases from design to complete installation of the entire marina.

Dubai Marina Yacht Club (DMYC)

Dubai Marina Yacht Club (DMYC) is the first of the three marinas under the Dubai Marina Stage 3 contract with EMAAR. DMYC serves as the Central Port Authority for all Boating Operations in the Dubai Marina Canal.

An elegant Yacht Club sits as the centerpiece icon for the marina. The marina was redesigned post contract award to accomodate various vessel sizes due to the rapidly changing boating market in the area.

The Marina features extra wide berths, full MEP services with speakers integrated within the pedestals and sewage pumpout services. Special fixings were designed and incorporated into the pontoons to accomodate EMAAR’s signature flag poles.


Royal Yas MarinaLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAE Client/Operator: ALDAR

Relevance: New concrete pontoon system installed in the dry.



Project Delivery:Planning/Design/Construction

The first of Aldar’s marinas to be constructed, Royal Yas Marina is positioned alongside the Formula 1 Race Track located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Extra wide walkways provide the Marina with additional room to accomodate golf carts and an extra luxury feel.

The Marina will offer first class services such as Sewage Pumpout, Fuel Dock and Underwater LED lights.

The majority of the marina will be constructed in the dry, final connections will occur past flooding of the basin. The marina will open in time for Formula 1 races, November 2009.


Jumeirah Beach Hotel MarinaRedevelopmentLocation: Dubai, UAE Client/Operator: Jumeriah

Relevance: Marina rebuild- existing lightweight pontoon systemreplaced with modern concrete floating pontoons andutilising phased construction.




Timeline:4 Months

Septech were comissioned to completely remove the existing lightweight pontoon system piles, MEP services and design and construct a new concrete marina pontoon system within a 4-month time frame. In addition, Septech were required to maintain available slips for vessels therefore utilised a phased construction programme to accomodate the operators’ needs.

The marina offers first class services and dockage furniture- such as customised stainless steel mooring bollards and luxury dock boxes. The marine works included pontoon systems with curved design, MEP service pedestals w/ integrated sewage pumpout, SOS pedestals and gangways.


The Wave, MuscatLocation: Muscat, Oman Client/Operator: The Wave, Muscat

Relevance:Consultancy design services for marina facility.

Number of Berths:450+ (10-50m vessels)


Project Delivery:Planning/Design

The Wave Muscat is one of the signature new developments currently under design and planning. The development combines more than 4,000 beautiful mixes of properties that will be the first integrated resort and residential development in the Muscat region.

Septech has been awarded the planning design, tender and construction supervision services associated with the development of the 450+ berth marina that will serve as the centerpiece of the development.

The project is currently in the preliminary design stage and will utilise phased construction to parallel the surrounding upland development.


Barr Al JissahLocation: Muscat, Oman Client/Operator: Turner Construction

Relevance:New construction of pontoon system with sea flex.

Barr Al Jissah Marina is located off the beautiful coast of Oman nested alongside the rugged mountains and nearby the luxurious Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa.

Septech designed and installed the floating pontoons utilising the ‘Seaflex’ anchoring system.

Barr Al Jissah Marina was featured in the Marina World magazine in March/April 2006.


Marina Mall Location: Dubai, UAE Client/Operator: Emaar

Relevance: New concrete marina pontoon system




Marina Mall is one of the three marinas awarded to Septech under the Dubai Marina Stage 3 contract with Emaar.

The Marina utilises a unique layout in order to provide an attractive addition to Emaar’s luxurious Marina Mall development under construction simultaneously on land.

The marina will utilise the same customised additions as constructed at the Dubai Marina Yacht Club. The Marina facility will be an attractive addition to the Dubai Marina Canal.


West MarinaLocation: Dubai, UAE Client/Operator: Emaar

Relevance: New concrete marina pontoon system




West Marina is one of the three marina projects that Emaar awarded to Septech under the Dubai marina stage 3 contract.

The Marina was second to be built following the Dubai Marina Yacht Club, and will utilise the same modern luxury concrete pontoon system and unique Emaar customisations and that were incorporated into the Dubai Marina Yacht Club project.


Qarsana Island MarinaLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAE Client/Operator: Private

Qarsana Island Marina is located on a private island approximately 3 nautical miles off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

At Qarsana, we installed our Unfloat® wave attenuators for the first time in this region.

Septech completed the design and construction of this marina facility which consists of new concrete marina pontoons, wave attenuators, a full set of utility services (electrical and water), and a gangway.

Java IslandLocation: The World, Dubai, UAE Client/Operator: GLR/Septech

Relevance: Marina pontoon system and wave attenuators.

Java Island will be one of the most unique dexvelopments and be one of the first marinas constructed on The World Development.

The marina will accomodate the residents of the 52 villas and transient guests visiting the luxury spa facility and Lenny Kravitz sunset floating restaurant.

The marina will be of first-class construction inclusive of all the customised dock accessories. The marina will incorporate special palm trees at the ends of its fingers to create a Bevery Hills “Rodeo Drive” feel.
