Students interviewed residents in the Adrian area who had recollections of the work of the American Red Cross in the Adrian area. Stories included wartime efforts, natural disasters and more. Respiratory Care Recruitment Campaign - Digital campaign to encourage students to apply for admittance in the Respi-ratory Care Program. Digital ads were placed using MLive, the digital billboard on I-94 was used and Facebook was used. Marketing set up a landing page (www.jccmi.edu/respiratory) that brings students directly to the informationm they are seeking.

NEWS RELEASESJuly 21, 2014Jackson College Open House to highlight workforce dollars available for education
Education and training dollars to help students with short-term educational programs or help those near graduation are available to qualifying students from South Central Michigan Works!
Jackson College’s W.J. Maher Campus will host an Open House from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 to inform and promote the educational opportunities available with Workforce Investment Act dollars. Funding is available and may be used for tuition, fees and books to qualifying students for specific programs. To qualify, students must: Have a household income less than $45,000 and reside in Hillsdale, Jackson or Lenawee counties; Be enrolled in or interested in a program that will take less than one year (such as certificate, concentration and skillset programs); Be within the last year of their associate degree program. Student must have an audited transcript to submit to South Central Michigan Works! showing that they are less than one year from completion. Program must be listed on the Michigan Career Education Consumer Report (http://www.mycareereducation.org/trainsearch.asp).
The Open House will include brief presentations from Jackson College and South Central Michigan Works! staff, as well as one-on-one assistance with registration, financial aid, and South Central Michigan Works! program registration. Light refreshments will be available; all interested students are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to 517.768.7097. W.J. Maher Campus is located at 3000 Blake Road, Jackson.

ADRIAN, MI -- Jackson College @ LISD TECH will host a financial aid workshop on Wednesday, July 16 from 6:30-8 p.m.
This workshop is available for anyone needing some general information about the financial aid process, including scholarships, Tuition Incentive Program (TIP), loans and student employment. Staff will be available to assist students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Participants are asked to bring their federal tax returns, driver’s license or state ID, Social Security number, and information on savings, investments and assets. Students who are under 24 may be required to provide tax information for parents also in the FAFSA. Contact the JC @ LISD TECH office to see if both sets of tax information are required. For those who are not U.S. citizens, bring your alien registration number.

Due to a power outage, classes at Jackson College’s W.J. Maher Campus are canceled today, Tuesday, July 1. The campus is without power following recent storms. Offices are also closed at the Maher Campus. All other JC locations are open.
