Marketo Integration Guide In this guide we will go through the steps required for the Docalytics document analytics platform to integrate with Marketo. This guide assumes that you have your Docalytics account setup, and that you have an existing Docalytics form setup that will be used to synchronize information with Marketo. If you help setting up your Docalytics form or configuring with documents, please consult our knowledge base. Quick Steps The following sections describe the process of configuring things in detail, but if you are familiar with both Docalytics and Marketo, the following are the basic steps needed fort he configuration. 1. Add two custom fields to Marketo. a. Type: Integer Name: Docalytics Engagement Score API Name: DOCALYTICS_ENGAGEMENT_SCORE b. Type: Url Name: Docalytics Engagement URL API Name: DOCALYTICS_ENGAGEMENT_URL 2. Extract the following information from the Marketo administrative console: a. Munchkin Account ID b. Munchkin API Private Key c. SOAP API Endpoint d. SOAP API User ID e. SOAP API Encryption Key 3. Enable Marketo integration in the Docalytics settings screen and populate the above information. 4. Go to a Docalytics lead form and setup Marketo integration. a. Predefined Docalytics form fields will be mapped automatically b. To manually map a field, check the box and select the equivalent Marketo field from the dropdown list c. For fields not in the dropdown list, select the custom field option, and enter the API name for the field in the accompanying text box. 5. Test the synchronization by adding the form to a document and filling out the form. Observe the data in Marketo within a couple minutes of closing the document.

1. Add two custom fields to Marketo. a. Type: Integer

Name: Docalytics Engagement Score API Name: DOCALYTICS_ENGAGEMENT_SCORE

b. Type: Url Name: Docalytics Engagement URL API Name: DOCALYTICS_ENGAGEMENT_URL

2. Extract the following information from the Marketo administrative console: a. Munchkin Account ID b. Munchkin API Private Key c. SOAP API Endpoint d. SOAP API User ID e. SOAP API Encryption Key

3. Enable Marketo integration in the Docalytics settings screen and populate the above information.

4. Go to a Docalytics lead form and setup Marketo integration. a. Predefined Docalytics form fields will be mapped automatically b. To manually map a field, check the box and select the equivalent

Marketo field from the dropdown list c. For fields not in the dropdown list, select the custom field option, and

enter the API name for the field in the accompanying text box. 5. Test the synchronization by adding the form to a document and filling out the

form. Observe the data in Marketo within a couple minutes of closing the document.

Adding Custom Fields to Marketo Docalytics leverages two custom fields for leads to push custom information into the leads database. These fields are not required, but if they are missing the Marketo lead will not receive the additional information about the lead from Docalytics. The Docalytics Engagement Score field receives a numeric value that represents how engaged the user was with you content. This score is tallied across all of your documents that the lead has viewed. Things like how long the user spent on the document are considered as part of the engagement score. See outside documentation for more details. The engagement score is a number between 0 and 1000, with higher numbers meaning more engaged. When this same information is related with the Docalytics interface, the range is 0 to 10, so the value in Marketo is computed by multiplying the Docalytics value by 100. The Docalytics Engagement URL field receives a URL to a page in Docalytics where you can view detailed information for a lead, including which documents the viewed, how much they spent on each page, heat maps, and much more. This link is pre-authenticated meaning no Docalytics credentials are required in order to view it. The following screenshot shows the custom fields populated on a Marketo lead:

To add the custom fields, click on the Admin link in the upper-right corner of the Marketo interface.

Go to the Field Management section of the administrative interface and click on the New Custom Field button.

Create a second custom field of type Url. Make the name Docalytics Engagement URL and the API name DOCALYTICS_ENGAGEMENT_URL.

Configuring Docalytics with Marketo API Information Docalytics leverages both the Marketo Munchkin and SOAP APIs and must be configured with information from each. Four pieces of information are needed from the Marketo Admin interface which will then be added to the Docalytics settings panel. From the Munchkin section under the Integration group, get the Munchkin Account ID.

Under API Configuration on that page, click the Edit link. If the Munchkin API is not enabled, check the checkbox. Set a private key for the API.

Next in the SOAP API section of the Integration group, retrieve the SOAP Endpoint, the User ID, and the Encryption Key.

In the Docalytics interface, go to the Settings page from the top-right navigation.

Configuring a Docalytics Form to Push to Marketo Once the Marketo API information is configured within Docalytics, one or more Docalytics forms can be configured to push information into Marketo. This document only describes the process of a mapping a form to Marketo, for additional details about setting up a form see the Docalytics knowledge base. Navigate to the Lead Generation section of the Docalytics interface.

If you are creating a new form, click Add New, fill in the name and details and click save. For an existing form, click Setup. From the form details page, click setup next to Marketo.

The Marketo form setup page lists all of the fields in the Docalytics form, and the equivalent field on the Marketo lead. For most pre-defined Docalytics fields (first name, last name, email, etc.), the mapping will automatically be populated for you.

For any fields that are not automatically mapped that you wish to be pushed to Marketo, check the checkbox in that field’s row, and select the equivalent field in the Marketo lead.

Only the default Marketo fields are available in the dropdown. For any fields that are not in the list, choose the < CUSTOM FIELD > option.

When choosing the custom field option, the text box should be populated with the API name of the Marketo field. Note that this value is different from the friendly label. If you wish to enroll leads captured through the Docalytics form in a Marketo campaign after they are pushed to Marketo, select the existing campaign from the available dropdown.

Save the changes to the Marketo form options.

Testing the Configuration Once you have everything configured, test your synchronization by visiting a document with the Marketo synced form in it. It is best to do this with the browser in private browsing mode so that any of your previous activity isn’t captured with this test. Fill out the form in the document. The information should be fully populated in your Marketo lead database within a couple minutes of closing the document.
